Needles and Flowers, 2024-2025,
Out in the Open: Pierre Lassonde School of Fine Arts Graduate Exhibition 2025.
At the Owens Art Gallery, Mount Allison University, Sackville, New Brunswick, Canada.

The show ran from April 12 - June 1, 2025 with a reception on May 10th. These photographs come from my collection which focuses on a year-long project of how film soup can display a moment in time, spontaneity, and environmentalism. During one of the first snow falls, I photographed evergreens and collected branches. I then photographed the branches with an arrangement of flowers. Taking the film, I boiled it in two soups, one with the branches and the other with both branches and the flowers. Allowing plants to have an influence of how the photographs came out allowed the magic of biochemistry to be seen.

🖼️ Out in the Open: Pierre Lassonde School of Fine Arts Graduate Exhibition 2025 @ Owens Art Gallery, Sackville 🖼️

Every year, the Owens Art Gallery presents the work of students graduating from the Pierre Lassonde School of Fine Arts at Mount Allison University. Featuring a wide range of work in a variety of media, this exhibition celebrates each student’s artistic development and considers it in relation to the collective journey of the whole class.

The Pierre Lassonde School of Fine Arts focuses on the research, creation, histories, and practices of the visual arts. Study in the School is led by practicing artists and art historians in courses designed and coordinated to establish a strong foundation in all facets of the visual arts. The school’s curriculum provides a rigorous, student-centred learning environment that balances intellectual with applied approaches, engaging students in the critical and reflective exploration of contemporary society, communities, and cultures. Research and creation in the visual arts are integral to the development and expression of cultural identities that can both reflect and challenge the values and norms of our pluralistic society.

Opening reception: May 10, 2025 at 2 p.m.
