I like to do newborn sessions (ideally) between 7 and 21 days of age.
Firstly, I like Moms to have at LEAST 7 days after delivery to not worry about anything extra.
Secondly, newborns during this early stage have shorter awake windows, and are not as easily disturbed during the photoshoot.
Thirdly, between 4 and 8 weeks of age your baby’s features begin to shift away from their newborn self. In my opinion, they all look quite a bit different by the 2 month mark.
Plan to contact your newborn photographer early on in your pregnancy. Between 13-20 weeks would be a safe range to make sure you get your time sensitive booking 😉.
