Kitbu (pronounced Get-boo), in Mi'kmaq means Eagle. It represents love in Indigenous cultures, and is one of the seven sacred teachings of Indigenous teachings. It's the animal that flies closest to creator and I was so honored to capture this beautiful creature last week in Parraboro, NS. If you aren't familiar with the seven teachings, I'd encourage you to do some research and consider how your way of living matches these teachings as these values truly make for a better life. I've been so privledged to learn about such beautiful aspects of Indigenous culture this summer 🦅 #

Three snuggly seals I captured while whale watching yesterday. The captain said seals are ordinarily solitary creatures and don’t like the company of others. He said the reason there were so many in one spot is because it’s a high feeding ground. However, these three seemed to be enjoying themselves!

I'm currently spending the better Part of the week in St. Andrew's, NB, with the youth I work with for our last camp this summer. It has unlocked a whole new world of photographs, and I cannot wait to keep sharing. Two monarchs were chasing each other and I spent much of an hour trying to capture them. Though unsuccessful, I love this creative shot.
