Watching a Loon on the water they appear to be slowly drifting, just letting the water's current and wind determine their direction. They are, of course, paddling with their feet and looking beneath the water's surface for prey. In the blink of an eye they dive for food, where and when they resurface is always a surprise.

The early morning fog on the lake's surface, the calm water reflecting the trees onshore, and a Loon calmly floating by, all combine to give this image a surreal quality.

East Quoddy Lighthouse (a.k.a.: Head Harbour Lighthouse) on Campobello Island, New Brunswick. This light station was established in 1829 and is one of many that were built in southern New Brunswick during the late 18th and early 19th centuries to aid ships in the Bay of Fundy. At low tide it is possible walk to the lighthouse, but the slippery, seaweed covered rocks makes this a very precarious endevour.
