PUBLIC SAFTEY ADVISORY

It’s RCMP Road Race Week!
On Wednesday, May 6, 2026, members of the general public can expect to see relay teams from Lakeland-area junior and senior high schools partake in the annual RCMP Road Race that begins west of St. Brides and continues along Highway 29 into the Town of St. Paul.

We ask that the motoring public remain vigilant and exercise caution if they are planning travel that will include this route, as runners will be present alongside the south shoulder of Highway 29. St. Paul RCMP will be present throughout the event alongside our partners from other public safety agencies to monitor traffic and ensure the safety of all our participants.

Race rules explicitly prohibit coaches, spectators, parents, or fans from driving alongside runners and only authorized vehicles and personnel will be permitted to park south of the highway. All rules of the road must be obeyed, and all applicable legislation will remain in effect.
