WHY NOT USE HIGH RESOLUTION FOR INSTAGRAM & FACEBOOK?

You might wonder why you shouldn’t just upload your HIGH-RESOLUTION photos everywhere.

The reason is simple: Instagram & Facebook compress photos when you upload them.

HIGH RESOLUTION files are large, full-quality files designed for printing and preserving your memories.

When you upload that large file to social media, Instagram/Facebook will automatically shrink and compress it. This can sometimes make your photo look softer or reduce the quality.

WEB SIZE files are already optimized for online use, so they’re smaller, load faster, and are designed to look great on screens.

Think of it this way:

HIGH RES = PRINT + KEEP FOREVER
WEB SIZE = POST + SHARE ONLINE

So when you’re posting your gallery to Instagram or Facebook, choose WEB SIZE for the best experience!

And don’t worry — your HIGH-RESOLUTION files are still the ones you want to save and keep for future printing.

Many of you know today is my Daughters first Birthday.

Being a photographer means I get to freeze time.

And there’s something so incredibly special about that when you’re a mom.

Because I know I can’t keep every version of my daughter.
I can’t keep her tiny hands, her sleepy cuddles, her little laugh, the way she looks at me, or the way she changes a little more every single day.

Just when I think I’ve memorized her, she becomes someone new.

But I can keep the photographs.

I can hold onto the tiny details I’m terrified I’ll forget. I can look back and see every version of her — exactly as she was, exactly as she loved, exactly as she lived.

Maybe that’s why photography means so much more to me now.

I’m not just preserving memories for other families.

I’m preserving my girl.

Because you can’t keep any version of them forever…
but you can keep the memories of who they were.
And today I’m especially grateful as I eat dinner at a wedding I’m photographing I’m able to open my phone and see her beautiful face and remember why I do it all.

MODEL CALL — COUNTRY / WESTERN COUPLE ON A SEPTEMBER EVENING

I’m looking for a couple who fits a little bit of country, a little bit of western, and a whole lot of chemistry.

Think worn-in denim, boots, open fields, golden light, messy hair, quiet moments + the kind of love that feels real.

A little change to my model calls:
After having quite a few previous models cancel last minute, I’m no longer offering completely free model calls.

That being said — these will still be HEAVILY discounted.

The session fee simply helps cover the time, gas, commuting, planning + organizing that goes into creating these sessions, while also helping ensure that the people who book are genuinely committed to showing up.

These are creative sessions for my portfolio, so I’ll have a little more creative freedom than a typical client session — and in return, you’ll get a beautiful gallery at a fraction of my regular pricing.

Looking for:
— Country / western aesthetic
— A couple with genuine chemistry
— Comfortable being playful + intimate in front of the camera
— Someone who can commit to a date/time/location
— Outfits such as cowboy boots, denim, leather, hats, flowy dresses, etc

I’ve been a little quiet over here… but only because I’ve been BUSY TAKING PHOTOS!

This season has been full of beautiful people, wild locations, golden light, love stories, and so many moments I can’t wait to share with you.

I’ve got so many galleries in the works and a camera roll that is absolutely overflowing. 😅

So if you’ve been wondering where I’ve been, I’m right here, behind the camera, doing what I love while still trying to balance photography and family!

Some days I have to stop and remind myself just how grateful I am.

When I started Preserved Memories Photography, I never imagined it would grow into something this busy. Every inquiry, every booking, every wedding, every family that trusts me with their memories means more than I can put into words.

Thank you for your incredible support, your kindness, and especially your patience. Between running my business, editing galleries, answering emails, raising my little girl, and being present with my family, life is wonderfully full.

I know my turnaround times aren’t always as quick as I’d like, but please know that every gallery is edited with care and intention. Your understanding allows me to create work I’m proud of instead of rushing through your memories.

Thank you for helping make this dream my reality. I truly couldn’t do it without all of you!

If I could fit more hours into a day, I would. I’d take every session, deliver every gallery sooner, answer every message instantly, spend endless time with my daughter, be fully present as a wife, and somehow keep up with the never-ending housework too.

But the reality is, I can’t do it all and I’ve learned that’s okay.

To give every client the experience they deserve while still being present for the family I’ve worked so hard to build, my session availability has to stay limited.

Every gallery is edited with care, every client matters, and every moment with my family matters too. Thank you for supporting a small business run by one person behind the camera and a mama behind the scenes. It truly means more than you know.
