What's a better way to get work than referrals?
Back in January, I was taking part in a baseball tournament in the frigid cold. Yes you read that right, baseball in winter. One of my teammates had mentioned to me that her sister was getting married and that she was insistent that I should be the one to capture the wedding, and that she was going to do whatever she could to make it happen.
I had difficulty staying warm that weekend, but that vote of confidence warmed me right up π
Later that evening, I was introduced to Brittany and Robert at the dinner and dance. We talked briefly about their plans but they seemed pretty convinced that they wanted to work with me as well. My teammate/wing-girl wasn't kidding!
Now, while they won't be married until next year, these two have been together for 10 years, built a family, and lived a lifetime already together. To take this next step, truly solidifies their love for one another. To have me capture it is such an honor, it always is. So because of that, I spent a great deal of time thinking about how I wanted to do their engagement shoot.
In the end, I may have over prepared, but better to be over prepared than underprepared am I right? I took them on a walk through the close-by woods, we played games, shared alot of laughs, and caught these naturally beautiful moments in between. I get the feeling that they are even more stoked to work together after our time together, and I would say the feeling is mutual. All that's left to do now, is bring on the party!
Congratulations to them both on a lifetime of love and their next chapter of that tale set to begin π
