Fresh 48 is a newborn session done within the first 48 hours after baby is born—usually right at the hospital. Its more the story of meeting your baby, rather than newborn portraits.
It’s very different from a posed newborn session. Fresh 48 is about documenting what those first moments actually feel like: the tiny hospital bassinet, wrinkly toes, hospital bracelets, sleepy snuggles, feeding, big siblings meeting the baby, parents staring at this brand-new tiny human they just made.
There’s no elaborate setup, props, posing, or expectation that everyone looks perfectly put together. It’s more documentary/lifestyle photography—capturing the little details and interactions as they naturally happen.
The bbest Fresh 48 images are the things you don't realize you'll forget: how tiny they looked in Dad's arms, their little face all scrunched up, the hospital blanket, Mom looking exhausted but completely obsessed, or a sibling cautiously checking out this new person who's apparently coming home with them.
