Inside the Soho this month, we’re highlighting a beautiful session centered around a growing family. The images are clean, natural, and timeless, creating moments they’ll hold onto for years to come.

Meet Desiree Martin: A Saskatoon based photographer that specializes in easy, beautiful photos that illustrate your life.

Q: What was the vision behind this shoot?
D: “Capturing a family with a new addition. We wanted clean, simple, raw and timeless photos that they could cherish for years.”

Q: If you could photograph any person-living or historical-who it be and why?
D: “Probably Erykah Badu or Beyoncé. I’ve always been drawn to their energy, edge, style, and undeniable talent. They both have such a presence and natural beauty and I think working with either of them would be an incredible creative experience.”

Q: What’s one lesson you’ve learned that you’d share with new photographers?
D: “Always make sure that you continue to capture things that fill your cup as an artist to keep the creativity alive. Comparison is the thief of joy. Stop comparing yourself to others in the industry; their content, their drive, their travels, their success. Take time to reflect on how important our role is to capture people’s precious moments.”

This month’s feature in the Soho studio is a gentle glimpse into a family on the edge of a new chapter.

Meet Delaney Denham: A travel, wedding and lifestyle photographer based in Saskatoon, drawn to anything that allows love to be documented.

Q: What was the story behind this shoot?
D: “The vision behind this session was to capture the quiet, in-between moments of a growing family in a way that feels honest and timeless. There’s something really special about documenting this season where life is about to change, but hasn’t quite yet, and I wanted that anticipation, fun, and tenderness to come through in a really natural way.”

Q: If you could photograph any person-living or historical-who it be and why?
D: “This might be unconventional but honestly, I think I’d choose my parents when they were younger and dating. There’s something really special about the idea of meeting them in that season of life and getting to witness their love before I was ever part of it.”

Q: What’s one lesson you’ve learned that you’d share with new photographers?
D: “I think my biggest advice would be to not stress about finding your niche or defining your style right away. That comes with time. When you approach photography from a place of genuine passion, love, curiosity, and connection, your style naturally starts to take shape on its own.”

This month, the spotlight turns to the Soho studio. Created to honour and celebrate the incredible fashion talent in Saskatchewan, this shoot blends an editorial vision with a soft, timeless aesthetic. The result is imagery that feels elevated yet delicate, modern, yet enduring.

Meet Amanda Zaki: A lifestyle photographer based in Saskatoon who believes love should be documented beautifully, honestly, and timelessly.

Q: What was the story behind this shoot?
A: “I wanted to honour and celebrate the amazing fashion talent of Saskatchewan while bringing out the natural beauty, confidence, and strength of this stunning young model. A true collaboration of creativity, passion, and artistry.”

Q: If you could photograph any person-living or historical-who it be and why?
A: “I would love to photograph Taylor Swift because she represents storytelling at its highest level. Every era she creates is visually and emotionally intentional, offering endless creative inspiration. Capturing her would be about more than just a portrait — it would be about translating her artistry, evolution, and emotional depth into a single frame.”

Q: What’s one lesson you’ve learned that you’d share with new photographers?
A: “Practice, practice, practice — you can never practice enough. Ask your friends and family to be your subjects, and don’t forget to challenge yourself by shooting in less-than-ideal conditions. Growth happens when you step outside your comfort zone.”

This month’s spotlight brings us to our Soho studio, where fleeting newborn moments meet the beginning of a beautiful journey as a family of four. Unscripted moments, genuine smiles, and laughter that tells their story.

Meet Emily Ganchar: Based in Saskatoon, she photographs love as it unfolds. In quiet wedding day moments, the joy of new life, and the transformative power of self-appreciation

Q: What was the story behind this shoot?
E: “The story behind this shoot is simple. The family - who happen to be long time friends of mine - had recently welcomed their second born. We wanted to document the fleeting moment of him being so small and brand new, while also capturing the start of their exciting journey as a family of four.”

Q: If you could photograph any person-living or historical-who it be and why?
E: “In this moment, I would love to be able to go back in time and photograph my parents when they were young and just starting their life together. I think it would be so fun and special to be able to witness them in that stage of life.”

Q: What’s one lesson you’ve learned that you’d share with new photographers?
E: “Try and remember to slow down. Since becoming a photographer and diving deeper into this craft, I find inspiration all around me - from the movies I watch, to the way light shines around me. To the way music makes me feel and the way love shows up. But most prominently, in the people around me. From those I interact with to those I pass on the street. There is beauty in everything, you just have to be willing to see it.”
