Grace and Stalin’s love story has been written across the country: Nunavut, Winnipeg, Calgary, and Saskatoon. 🗺️

It has been such a joy to be a part of these chapters through our friendship with Stalin. What started out as Jesse and Stalin being friendly coworkers quickly blossomed into weekly family dinners and our kids affectionately referring to him as Uncle Stalin.

They are both so excited to finally arrive at the altar and join their lives together surrounded by their family, friends, and their faith. We’ve loved being part of their story so far and we can’t wait to witness the rest of it. 💖

Memories that span generations 💖

My grandparents are some of the most special people in my life. I always enjoy visits with them, and some favorite moments of my childhood were with them. I treasure every photograph I have with them.

To celebrate Grandparents Day this year, we're having a day of mini sessions exclusively for grandparents and their grandchildren!
These are 15 minute sessions which will include solo photos of grandparents, and a variety of photos with the grandkids.

I'm such a big fan of maternity photos because pregnancy is one of the wildest body experiences. There is so much change happening in such a short time, those 9 months can feel like years but it really is a brief time and I love getting to immortalize it in photographs. It's this unique season of growth and waiting, the family anticipating a new member while the mum's body is working double time to care for them already.
I know that because of the body changing so much, it can be hard to find nice clothes that fit and get in front of the camera. I love having a client closet full of maternity dresses for ladies to wear for their session. You deserve to feel beautiful and have lovely photos to remember such a special time and celebrate the incredible journey you went through.

Those first days with a new baby (or two!). The newborn smell, the tiny fingers and toes, the endless snuggles. It's a beautiful but brief time in a family's story and I'm always grateful to be invited into the chaos and vulnerability of postpartum.

This darling mum reached out after welcoming twins this spring. Their session was filled with all the best parts of young families. The smallest diapers to change, toddler snack time, a perfect mix of rough-housing and baby snuggling. I loved seeing all the photos on the wall documenting how their family has been growing over the years.

In a few years, when the babies are running around the yard with their older brothers, mum and dad will have these photos added to the wall to remember this time. The genuine emotions and connection, the joy of growing their family again 🩵🩵🩷🩵

This family means so much to me 🥹🫶 When their girls ran from three houses down the street to draw sidewalk chalk with my kids two years ago, it was the start of a fast and precious friendship between our families. We got the idyllic neighbor experience of last minute playdates, lending and borrowing baking supplies in a pinch, and meals after having babies.
This is still one of my favorite family sessions to date because it truly felt like just spending time with loved ones. I really enjoyed chasing the girls around while they explored and seeing the world from their perspective for a while. A last hurrah to commemorate their time in Saskatoon before they moved 💔
And now I have a piece of my heart living out in Alberta that I get to visit this summer! 🛣️🫂

Moira & Rory 🌧️
At first I wasn't completely satisfied with the technical aspects of the photos I took this day, but while editing them, we were able to take a step back from perfection and focus on the emotions of the day and lean in to making art out of such special moments.
I was awestruck by St. Joseph's Basilica in Edmonton. The soaring arches and stained glass windows were stunning (stained glass is one of my favorite things ever 🤩). I really got a sense of grandeur from their beautiful ceremony in this incredible space.
It was so fun running around in the rain together during portraits. Summer rain is some of my favorite weather. The colors are rich, the mood is cozy, and it just feels like a movie dancing and laughing under the thick clouds.

These are still some of my favorite photos from last summer! Adyson looked like an absolute disney princess and I had so much fun with her and her family celebrating her graduation!

She's literally glowing ✨
What better way to celebrate my dearest friend's birthday than staring at these photos of her gorgeous self? 🎉 Aurora and I became fast friends when I was the new kid at school. We've shared so many laughs and tears and memories since then and I'm so so thankful we've been there for the big and small moments in each other's lives. There's so much I could say about Aurora. She's intelligent, kind, funny, caring, stylish, passionate. Plus she introduced me to the band Twenty-One Pilots so I owe her forever 🫶

Baby Gus and his family.
The biggest thing I took away from this session was that Gus is a very very loved and cherished baby. I enjoyed watching his parents work together and dote on him. Every snuggle, look, and smile was filled with love for each other and little Gus. I've been doing more of these family newborn sessions and I'm so grateful for clients that trust me and welcome me into their homes in such a new and vulnerable time in their lives to witness their connection. 💖
