Today is the Winter Solstice - the shortest day of the year. Normally I like to mark this day with cliches about bringing the light back but with everything going on in the world these past few years, everything just keeps getting darker. Today I can't help but reflect on how cruel and hateful the average person has become. But I know that good people still exist. They're not the ones in our government buildings or in places of worship. And they're not famous personalities plastered all over our social media. Good people are too busy working and helping us everyday, behind the scenes, and often ignored. Lights in the blackness of modern society. I wonder if I'll get to meet a few this coming year.
