One minute they still need you for everything… and the next they’re becoming their own person right in front of your eyes.

The second pregnancy carries a different kind of emotion.
Less fear of the unknown…
and more awareness of just how quickly these moments pass.

She already knows the sleepless nights, the tiny newborn fingers, the first cries, the way your heart somehow grows big enough to love another child just as deeply. 🤍

I’ve been asked recently if the portraits I create are ai generated… and honestly, I take it as the biggest compliment. 🤍

But no — my babies are not AI generated.
Those sweet squishy poses, tiny curled fingers, fluffy wraps, and dreamy setups are all real babies, safely and professionally posed with patience, experience, and lots of soothing. 🥹

Most newborns naturally love being snug and swaddled because it reminds them of being safe and cozy in the womb. That sleepy, curled-up look is created through: ✨ proper swaddling
✨ gentle posing
✨ warmth and soothing
✨ years of newborn safety training and experience

What you’re seeing is not “perfect because of AI.”

It’s real moments, real babies, and a carefully created experience designed to capture just how tiny and precious they are in those first days.

Turning ONE is such a huge milestone and absolutely deserves to be celebrated.
We start with timeless milestone portraits of your little one, capturing all those sweet expressions and tiny details you never want to forget. Then we include family portraits before the fun (and mess!) begins.
And finally… the cake smash. 🎂
The icing on the cake — literally.

Every child deserves to feel seen, celebrated, and beautiful ❤️

When she saw this portrait for the first time, her smile stretched from ear to ear and her eyes completely lit up ❤️

And honestly… that moment meant more to me than the portrait itself.

This is why I do this.
Not just to create beautiful images, but to help children see themselves in a beautiful way too. To help them feel confident, strong, worthy, and important.
Because confidence is built in moments like these.
In being celebrated.
In being reminded that they matter.
In seeing themselves as art.

I’m printing this entire set for her because children deserve to experience their portraits in print — not just hidden away on a phone. And I may just need a giant canvas for her room so she’s reminded every single day how beautiful she truly is ❤️

One of my favourite parts of a newborn session is capturing those bright little eyes and tiny expressions while your baby is calmly taking everything in. These awake portraits are often some of the most treasured images because they already show so much personality in those very first weeks.

A lot of parents worry their baby “won’t sleep” during their session — but that’s completely okay. As a specialized newborn photographer in Saskatoon, I always follow baby’s lead and create a relaxed experience that allows for both sleepy and awake portraits naturally.
