“I could never do a bo***ir shoot.”
I hear that all the time.
Women tell me they don’t have the courage. They think they’ll be too nervous, too self-conscious, too uncomfortable. They imagine walking into a room and somehow being expected to magically feel confident.
But here’s what actually happens.
They show up shaking. They second-guess their decision. They wonder if they should have cancelled.
And then something shifts.
Maybe it’s realizing they’re in a safe space. Maybe it’s seeing themselves through a different lens for the first time. Maybe it’s discovering they are capable of so much more than they gave themselves credit for.
The woman who walks out of the studio is rarely the same woman who walked in.
She leaves knowing she is capable of doing hard things.
She leaves with proof that the voice in her head that told her she wasn’t enough was wrong.
She leaves having seen herself from a perspective she may have never allowed herself to before.
Not through the lens of criticism.
Not through the lens of comparison.
But through the lens of truth.
And the truth is that she was never lacking confidence, beauty, or worthiness.
She had simply forgotten.
Sometimes all it takes is one brave decision to remember who you are.
