Photography for me was always trying to come up with something new and not settling for the regular. This sometimes involved looking for the right spot to take the image. A photographer needs to take notes on what might make a good background for a photo. This is Holy Cross Basketball 1988.

Sometimes a photographer must wander in past the normal places where normal people take a photo. With the pine trees I had to follow an animal trail into the woods about 100 yards to get a photo of the moon and place it where I wanted it. With the windmill, when the flag went up for the northern lights, I drove about 45 K south of the city where I knew there was one in the pastures. I climbed over a barbed wire fence and traveled in about 150 yards to find the windmill. This was around 11:00pm and dark. Sometimes the successful photographer must go the extra mile to get the photograph they want. Have fun.

When I did jobs for Sask. Ag. This is not AI. It is crop, mask, and overlay. Shoot the corn on white in the field and then find a sunny background from your files. You then remove the white to a clear background for the corn then overlay to the sunny shot. Flatten and send the work off to the customer. It is much easier now in photoshop or on your phone. A blast from the past.
