Hi, Happy Tuesday! With the weather warming in Toronto I can’t help but look forward to all the wonderful little creatures I’ll capture this year. With warming weather in mind, enjoy this shot of a western honey bee (Apis Mellifera). This was actually one of the few honey bees I was able to capture last season, It felt like they were few and far between in comparison to the year before. Hopefully I will have better luck with the bees in the coming months! Have a great rest of your week ☺️🐝

Hello, Happy Tuesday ! Here we have a green metallic sweat bee (Genus: Agapostemon - Unsure on the exact species) foraging on a dandelion. I found this specimen at Rouge National park early in the morning so this bee was quite still, however it was deep in the dandelion which made it a little difficult to get a good shot. But I think the shot through the florets of the dandelion make for an interesting perspective.

Hi everyone, surprise surprise! It’s been so long since my last post which kinda makes me sad, but the holidays are so hectic. However, do not fret cause I am back and I’m back with some goals for the year. I need to force myself to get enough content during bug season to be able to post AT LEAST every other week.

For now, enjoy this orb weaver suspended on its web.

Happy Thursday everyone! Here is a red ant (Myrmica rubra) standing above its livestock. These red ants are commonly found farming aphids, I have shared a few photos previously demonstrating the interesting relationship they share. Visit my page for a more in-depth explanation ☺️🐜

Happy Friday!! Todays an exciting day because I’m sharing with you the first reptile to appear on codifodo - a DeKays brown snake (Storeria dekayi). This is a species of small non-venomous snake that’s native to North and Central America. This species of snake is usually under 12 inches in length which makes it a good macro subject. This individual snake was super chill and allowed our group to get a bunch of photos, at one point a dog even passed by and it wasn’t phased. It was found crossing a trail at Rouge Park earlier this year. Hopefully more diverse forms of life will continue to be featured here. Swipe for an uncropped image. ☺️🐍

Happy Thursday! Today you guys get an orb weaver (unsure on the exact species). Orb weavers belong to the spider family Araneidae. This little fella I found chilling on the web on a cool fall morning last year. Orb weavers are the most common spiral web builders hence the name “orb”. Swipe for an uncropped image! ☺️🕷️

Happy Wednesday! Featured here is a common earwig (Forficula auricularia), two different flies (flies are next to impossible to identify - atleast to me) and a zebra jumping spider (Salticus scenicus). All of which were taken in 2021.

Hello everyone! Ive been doing photography for a couple years now but I’ve been primarily using Instagram to display my work, and I thought it was time to expand my audience and start using Facebook as well. To kick off my presence on Facebook, here are a few of favourites from my first year of macro photography. Have a good week! 😀🐝🐜🪰🕷
