Check out my latest blog post to see images from a foggy morning at the Confederation Bridge.

I love those weekend mornings. The ones when I can get behind the wheel — with my camera bag in the passenger seat and my favourite music playlist on shuffle — and drive off without knowing exactly where things will take me. The morning of March 3rd was a cloudy one with sporadic rain. I decided...

A couple of days a week I work from the office in Downtown Moncton. On my lunch break, I like to go for a walk, usually packing my camera.

For a while now, I'd been returning to the office without having taken a single picture. Following some... reflection, I realized that, while I was holding back for the perfect image, I was missing out on other simple, yet interesting opportunities.

So when I headed out yesterday, as silly as it may sound, I gave myself permission to explore whatever caught my eye, without making it an intellectual exercise. And guess what? I came back with a few images that I really liked.

Here is one of them.

I know, I know... another tree. But it's a heart-shaped tree!

I'd been pondering over these two images ever since I took them a few weekends ago, trying to determine which one I prefer. It's a subtle difference, but you'll notice that the first photograph was taken from a low-angle perspective, while the second was taken from an eye-level perspective.

On the one hand, I like how to tree is completely set apart from the foreground in the first image, but on the other hand, I like the dark band of grass that runs across the foreground in the second image.

I've finally settled on my favourite: the first image. Which one do you prefer?

At the time, I remember thinking how nice it would've been if someone just happened to walk by. How a human silhouette would have made the image more interesting. But looking at it now, I like it just fine the way it is.

You're probably thinking, what's so special about this picnic table, anyway?

I simply liked how its red colour complemented the green grass in the midst of a foggy, neutral backdrop.

Last Saturday, I woke up early from a night of camping to some glorious fog. I remembered this tree from the previous day and I immediately went to it. I like how the fog sets it apart by eliminating what would have otherwise been a distracting background.
