Jo-Ina Young is the Metis Elder for School District 62 and a resident of Sooke. She shares her culture not only in schools but with the community. She leads workshops on traditional Metis craft such as beading, embroidery, and ribbon skirt making. Jo-Ina is a role model to students, teachers, and community members. Maarsii (thank you) Jo-Ina for the work you do in our communities.
