I think social media made a lot of us believe that loving the outdoors has to become your whole lifestyle.

But honestly, most of my life is still work, errands, tired evenings, and trying to catch a bit of daylight after work.

And maybe outdoor life still counts even when it happens in small moments between everything else.

What does your realistic version of outdoor life look like right now?

Honestly so glad we didn’t postpone this trip because of the forecast 😭

We almost stayed home. But then one iceberg led to a hike, the hike led to a random detour, the detour led to one of the coolest camping spots I’ve seen in Newfoundland, and somehow all the unplanned decisions became the best part of the weekend.

I think some of my favorite adventures here happened because we stopped trying to make the trip perfect and just stayed open to whatever came our way.

Have you ever had a trip that almost didn’t happen, but ended up being unforgettable?

If something was easy, then everyone would do it. But if it’s hard, yet you still have the drive to do it, then you know you’re on the right path.

I need this reminder every day, and maybe you needed to hear it too ❤️

That’s the reality of the iceberg season in Newfoundland 😆

The difference between these shots is 1 day — the first day I couldn’t see anything because of the fog, the second day I got lucky!

Spent a few days exploring one of my favorite little corners of St. John’s — Quidi Vidi Village ✨

Slow morning with breakfast at our Airbnb, walking to the trails and brewery, ocean views around every corner, and ending the day in the hot tub after hours outside — this is exactly the kind of Newfoundland day I love.

We stayed at Adventure Haven in the heart of Quidi Vidi Village, and what I loved most was how easy it made everything: you can walk to so many spots instead of constantly driving around.

If you’re visiting St. John’s (or even planning a little staycation), definitely add Quidi Vidi to your list 🤍

You can book Adventure Haven through Newfoundland Vacation Rentals — link in their bio.

Newfoundland is one of the most beautiful places I’ve explored… but also one of the easiest places to underestimate 😅

After moving here, I quickly realized that things work differently on the island — distances are LONG, weather changes fast, and some mistakes can seriously affect your trip.

So here are a few things I wish I knew earlier before exploring Newfoundland.

Photos from:
📍 Ferryland
📍 Bay de Verde
📍 Bonavista Lighthouse
📍 Tablelands
📍 Spout River Falls
📍 Tickle Cove Sea Arch
📍 Conception Bay South (that iceberg might still be there)

Comment “NL” and I’ll send you my free Newfoundland trip planning cheat sheet.
