Beauty in motion.

A little glimpse from yesterday with Model boot camp NL ✨

For this shoot, I wanted to explore beauty and confidence through movement, letting go of the perfectly held pose and creating something a little more natural, expressive and editorial.

Movement has a way of bringing something completely different to a photograph, and this frame was an instant favourite.

Such a fun day creating together, learning, experimenting and getting in front of the camera.

Getting ready photos aren't really about getting ready.

They're the hands fastening your earrings. Your dog wondering why everyone is suddenly dressed up. The perfume you chose for that day. Your dress hanging quietly in the corner before you put it on.

They're the little details you might not think twice about in the moment but somehow mean so much more later.

And sometimes, there's an even sweeter part of the story. A tiny guest already along for the day. 🤍

The big moments matter, of course. The ceremony. The kiss. The first dance.

But I think it's often these quieter pieces of a wedding day that become more valuable with time.

Because eventually, they aren't just photos of you getting ready.

They're photos of what life looked like in that exact season and what it felt like just before everything began.

One of my favourite wedding moments has nothing to do with the photos.

It’s the moment when everything else fades away and it’s just the two of them.

This couple chose to do a first look at the beautiful Dvele House and the emotion between them was unlike anything I had seen in a long time.

The love was so pure, so genuine, and so full of joy. The second they saw each other, the world just seemed to stop.

Moments like that are why I love photographing weddings.

It’s not about perfectly posed photos. It’s about capturing the connection that exists between two people who are choosing each other.

A little reminder for couples planning their day:
Don’t rush through it. Build in time for the two of you. Whether it’s a first look, a quiet walk, or a few minutes alone after the ceremony those moments often become the ones you remember the most.
And they’re always some of the most beautiful to photograph.

I didn’t think a business class 15 years ago would lead to this moment. ✨

Back then, Leah and I were college friends. Coffee-fueled study sessions and big dreams about the future. Fast forward to this day, and I had the honour of photographing her wedding to the sweetest guy, Richard.

Their day was full of emotion — laughter, tears, and the kind of joy that fills every corner of a room. Their little boy even took a tiny tumble during the ceremony (as kids do), and everyone just smiled, supported and kept cheering them on. It was such a perfect reminder that real love isn’t about perfection.. it’s about showing up for each other through it all.

We celebrated their love story by the ocean with wind in her hair, waves crashing, and a fearless sparkle in her eyes as she climbed the rocks in her dress. Moments like that remind me why I do what I do, to show people how beautiful their stories truly are.

So much love to you both, Leah and Richard. Thank you for letting me be part of something so special. 💛

Dirt roads, an antique car, two best friends, and zero rules.

Jill & Colin didn’t care about perfect timelines or fancy traditions — they just wanted to feel their day.
