I still love Manitoba prairies!!

What a difference a few days makes! This was the gorgeous prairie landscape I saw on Wednesday when I traveled to a client's lovely landscaped yard along the La Salle River. I love a great . Today, the rains came and we even had a Tornado watch. Manitoba weather can change in an instant - that's what I love about living here!

Awards night at PPOC Prairie Region Conference. Our table of 6. I’ll be presenting the Best Portrait Award that I am sponsoring as well as the Best Child Portrait sponsored by Don’s Photo/The Print Refinery. Great meal - great friends - old and new! Even though I’m retired I still love being part of Professional Photographers of Canada.

Travelled to the UK to visit my best friend, and retired photographer, Inge Skliros! While there we visited several English Heritage Site. Kirby Hall is a Grade I listed Elizabethan country house, located near Gretton, Northamptonshire, England. The nearest main town is Corby. One of the great Elizabethan houses of England, Kirby Hall was built in 1570 for Sir Humphrey Stafford of Blatherwick.

The building was so amazing and we did an impromptu photo shoot! Love this image created by Inge!

Today at our Toastmasters meeting I was the Prepared Speaker. The Pathway I chose is Persuasive Influence and this was my level 4 Elective project. My time was 18-20 minutes where The speech portion was to be 5-7 minutes and the remainder was a Question and Anawer Session. I went over on my speech (11 minutes +) but the questions were so great! My speech title was: S.W.O.T. (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) In around 2000, my Business Advisor suggested I do a S.W.O.T. Analysis of my business and I believe that was the PIVOTAL excercise that helped my business grow and flourish. I had great feedback from those at the meeting! Thanks to Mike Lynes for the photo.

This past weekend, I was pleased to attend the Professional Photographers of Canada Prairie Region Prairie Creatives Conference at the Norwood Hotel in Winnipeg. We had 4 great speakers and I so enjoyed meeting with fellow photographers and assisting at the Awards Banquet on Saturday evening! Our Board of Directors and committee members had their portrait done (sadly, two members were missing) and we did an all-conference attendee photo. So great to still be involved in the PPOC!
