We were out photographing abandoned buildings this spring when one of our massive storms rolled through. It wasn’t the thick storm clouds that are so photogenic, it was one of those unreal moments when a massive cloud turned the sky dark, and you can see sheet rain and hail moving towards you. We left and went to a safer area to avoid falling trees and I thought that these photos were a bust. I finally got a good look at them last night. I liked how it turned out! The clouds had a glimmer of light right over the home, almost like it was protecting those memories inside.

Not my usual style of work but I had to take this photo when I saw this scene. It was such a combination of hardship and innocence.
This person was clearly on harder times yet the rabbit had no fear at all, no fear of being harmed and no worries about its company. Too bad people couldn’t be just as accepting. What a better world we could all create.

This was an abandoned that I fell in love with in Drumheller. It is beautiful!!! Thank you to the owners who left it on display for the world to admire.
