It's our birthday today!⠀

I had Lily on my 28th birthday; she made me a mom, but she also brought a type of joy into my life that I never imagined could exist. I have gotten to share 4 birthdays with Lily now, but more than that, I've gotten to witness our tiny little nugget of a baby grow into a strong, kind-hearted, independent, hilarious little girl. As much as I still cradle her in my arms and call her my baby, she has officially outgrown the baby stage.⠀

Birthdays have become oddly emotional for me, and I've been reflecting on whether it's the fact that I'm getting older, or she is, but having it all wrapped up in one is tough! I'm sure I'll get over it 🙈. ⠀

Lily Joy, I hope you never lose the wonder you have for everyday life, your sense of adventure, your heart full of SO much love, and the way you care for others. We love you little Joy-Joy. xo

Living that morning juice bar life with my funtimes gang! So much fresh fruit everywhere has us pretty happy and staying healthy. So much mango, papaya, pineapple, banana and watermelon for us!

I've been MIA the last few days for a good reason; spending some quality time with this little peanut!
We were supposed to fly out of Charlottetown early Saturday morning but that snowstorm had different ideas. Our flight was cancelled, and we decided to take our chances with Moncton and drive through some windy 3am snow to make our 6am flight.
Hot tip for the future, the worst day to have a flight cancelled is definitely Black Friday - it was nearly impossible to get through to our airline. In the end, we made it. Tired but so happy. And the bonus? We've missed all the snow!

It's my last wedding of 2019 today, it is so hard to believe another wedding season has come and gone for me. I have been so lucky to be blessed with the most amazing clients. I never take lightly the fact that couples allow me into some of their most intimate and special moments on one of the biggest days of their lives. It truly is a special gift, and I love being there to capture it all.

Thank you to all my 2019 couples, it's been a dream! And we're only a few short months away from the beginning of my 2020 season! We'll be celebrating with Nick & Richard on this February's leap year!

There are so many new friends here, I thought I should do a post!

My first name is Caley, my middle name is Joy. My husband Sean and I have a little girl named Lily whose middle name is also Joy. My Grandmother who just passed away in October's name was Joy. There are actually a lot of Joys in my family who stem from that one amazing woman. My grandma's niece is Joy and two great-nieces who also carry it as a middle name. 5 of us so far!

We live in Summerside, PEI now, but I grew up in Newmarket, Ontario. When people ask where I'm from, I always say, "a small town outside of Toronto". But really my small TOWN has a population of 80 000 and my current CITY is 14 000. I guess it's all about perspective, and likely a list of specific criteria that I just haven't Wikipedia'd yet.

My favourite album to sing to in the car right now is Jade Bird's self-titled. We got to see her in Montreal last week, and SHE RULES.

Sean and I just started a new British series on Netflix called End of the F***king World, have you seen it?

We are heading out on vacation next week to Punta Cana, and I am looking forward to putting the "Out of Office" notification on my email for the first time ever. I wonder if I can go a full week - yes, no or good luck?

I am sharing a little behind the scenes in my stories today of shooting earrings, so I thought I would post what those images turn in to! These photos were from our last shoot, where we took inspiration pieces from Harmonie & Snow of , some florals from , and some bits and bobs I had lying around the house to create a versatile little scene that is on-brand!

I can't stress the importance of having your imagery align with your brand. There is nothing that throws potential clients for a loop more than visual language that doesn't match your brand language.

Officially on vacation! It's our first time to Montreal, and I'm not sure why we haven't been before, because it's amazing. We are having so much fun eating and drinking our way through the city. But I think we might be having the most fun scootin' around! Whoever invented electric scooters is my new best friend.
Any Montreal recommendations? What's your favourite 'hood?!
