Serendipity or Fate?

I got a call from a Joke who asked had her friends for recommendations for a good photographer in Vancouver. They recommended a Femi to her.

GUESS WHAT ?
As we got to talk, I discovered that it was Joke Bukoye, my senior from high school in Nigeria.

Not only do we come from the same town, we lived 5 minutes apart as kids.

Imagine bumping into each other after more than 20 years.

Another fun discovery is that even though we are both far away from Naija, our homes remain 5 minutes apart.

AJ is One

I am extra proud to photograph this young man, Ayooluwa Joel for so many reasons.

AJs dad (Kenny) and I have been friends since we can remember, because our parents had been the best of friends since they were in high school.

My dad,a dedicated photography hobbyist, took photos of AJs grand-dad and family in the 70s all through to the 90s.

The circle of life has brought me to photographing Kennys wedding, family and his business.

Who knows what the next generation will do with this friendship as AJ is already playing with my son, Ara.

Transgenerational friendships really do exist.

I wish Ayooluwa Joel an amazing birthday and a life filled with wonderful lifelong friends.
