The Quiet Witness

Two views of one golden morning.

The pano: the whole harbour’s hush, glowing under a sky, set alight.

The crop: the heartbeat of the morning, held still long enough to notice.

A reminder that beauty is both in the sweeping view, and in the still, quiet witness to it all. ✨

Which one would you linger on first?

Happy New Year!

This past year has been my most favourite year for photos - here’s a wrap up with 10 of my personal favourites.

In 2024, I slowed down in the way I approached photography (but not in the way you think). I embraced what I was most interested in and learned about it, and chased the opportunities and moments I found most meaningful. The northern lights were a key interest, and discovered that taking more time to sit back and watch the sky in the rare instances they were visible to the naked eye, left me capturing my most favourite moments in between. I didn’t take hundreds of photos to get the best, I allowed my intuition to lead. I applied this to editing as well, focusing on photos that I enjoyed the most instead of labouring over decisions to edit ones I felt would be most visually appealing to others. I found myself backtracking to untouched photos from previous years and finding new favourites.

My skill set grew, I combined passions more, and learned many new things. I left 2024 with camera in hand, feeling more accomplished and personally fulfilled.

The colours are peaking and I’m here for it. North Mountain is stunning. Fun fact, whenever I drive this section of road, I envision pterodactyls flying alongside right in here👏🍂🍁🧡
