First time out under the stars with my new star tracker. The stars are not pinpoint sharp, at one point I kicked the leg of my tripod knocking off my polar alignment. I think, my next time out, I won't set up on the ledge of a cliff.🤣

This photo is an image that I have been imaging for a while now. The full arc of the milky way can only be captured in the Northern Hemisphere during the months of March, April and May. After a couple of failed attempts I finally capture this image. This is a nine panel panoramic shot at 14mm and manually stitched in photoshop.

I managed to get out under the stars on the weekend...and was able to actually see them. The Atlantic coast never disappoints.

Quick road trip on Sunday up to deliver some pictures to Art's North in Cape North and could not resist stopping at Halfway Brook falls when I spotted a pop of red and orange near the falls.

Well...The wait did prove to be worth it. The moon did set, the clouds did move out and the 8ft waves didn't sweep me off the rocks into the ocean. The glow of lights from Cheticamp helped define the sea stacks and that bright circle of light on the horizon is the Cheticamp Island lighthouse. It's amazing how a 15sec. exposure can flatten out the ocean with 8ft waves.

It seems quite often my Cape Breton road trips end up with my camera and I sitting on this beautiful beach for some of the best sunsets on the island. While I thoroughly enjoyed this scene my end goal here was to have the moon set and that last bit of clouds to clear out so I could photograph the Milky Way over the sea stacks....check back tomorrow to see how it turned out.
