The last remnants of the sunset tonight and finally, a few decent shots of Comet Atlas. Taken from the fire tower where I met a couple of guys from New Liskeard and Timmins. They weren't aware of the comet so they were happy to get some photos too. I saw some faint meteors, caught a couple of them in photos and missed a really bright one just out of the frame.

I really should get back out there but I need some sleep. lol The northern lights are spectacular tonight. Here are a few from several different locations. I spent more time just admiring the lights than taking photos. It was so nice to unexpectedly meet up with Cindy Sirotkin, Ashly Legacy and the rest of the gang up at the tower. Thanks Cindy for carrying my tripod and Wayne Manderstrom for following us back down the trail to provide great lighting.

The Northern Lights were so pretty tonight but SAR (Stable Aural Arc) really stole the show. I've only seen it twice before and really didn't know what I was looking at. It's similar to STEVE but rather than being a filmy pink and white arc, SAR is very red. It's quite rare to see it apparently so I'm thrilled to have captured it. I shot these photos in 3 different locations.

Just a touch of green tonight. Lots of meteors but couldn't get the bright ones in frame. Beautiful night though.

Damsel flies, grouse, painted turtles, chickadees. It was a wildlife kind of day. Flocks of chickadees flew through but not sure where they were headed. Still a few turtles out sunning themselves and a few dragonflies. This grouse just wasn't in any hurry to move out of my way.
