Part one of Lila and Kyle’s discovery session and I am truly obsessed 🤍 

We wandered, we laughed a ton, and somewhere in between they just forgot the camera was there.

Summer is honestly one of my favourite times of year. The light stays late, everything is lush, and there is something about a warm evening that just makes it all feel special.

Growing up and still now, I used to flip through photo albums. Finding pictures of moments I forgot and then feeling them all come back at once.

It was never just about the photos. It was sitting around the table with my family, laughing about those memories, creating new ones in the process. The people in our lives shape us. For me, family has always been that heartbeat.

So when I’m at a wedding, I’m not just watching the you as the couple I’m watching your people too 🤍

This is what a discovery session actually looks like 🤍

Atri and Saanchi came in “camera conscious” as they described themselves. They left with thirty minutes of just being themselves, and photos that felt more magical than they could’ve imagined.

Atri and Saanchi said it better than I could: “Lexi did such a great job for our engagement session! My fiancé and I are both camera conscious, she made us feel very comfortable… She is very professional, supportive and her personality adds so much to the session and also the photos because she captures subtle emotions very sweetly. Yellow is the colour of friendship, it always has been 💛

It’s one of the happiest of colours. Warm, carefree, impossible to dim. The kind of colour that doesn’t ask for attention but gets it anyway, because it makes every room feel a little more alive. That’s why it’s a perfect wedding colour.

Jessie knew exactly what she was doing when she put her best friends in yellow. This wasn’t a trend decision, it was a feeling one. And the moment they all walked in together, it showed.

June had it all 🫶

Manitoba with a tornado warning stranding us at the airport 😅, my dream of taking photos of perfect Shelties running around me, maternity sessions, a proposal that had me grinning behind the camera, and a few discovery sessions in between. Beautiful chaos, the usual kind. So much to share!

But off the clock, June was its own thing. Staying consistent at the gym to get strong again. Tennis has my heart more than ever and I finally retired my Ezone for a Speed MP. Different racket, different game, still figuring out what that means. I got back into reading too, books that are quietly rearranging how I think about life and business. And somewhere in all of it, I just spent more time outside than I have in years. No real reason. It just felt right.

Onto July. I can’t wait to see what you have in store 🥰

Kenny and Alyssa wanted their session to feel like an afternoon they’d actually spend together. So we brought books, a blanket, lemonade and let the day move at its own pace. And let me tell you it was perfect 🫶.

It felt so care free and them. From their smiles, laughs and quiet moments it felt out of a fairytale (literally).

This is what a Discovery Session can feel like when it’s built around you and your favourite things! I always start with a call and learn more about you as a couple, then we plan locations, concepts and outfits that will complement.

Jag emailed me a few days before our session together with one question: could we turn it into a proposal?

We planned every detail together the spot, the timing, how to get Sandhya there without her catching on.

And we pulled it off perfectly 🫶🥹💍
