'It had long been my dream to travel to South Scotland to visit the worlds largest gannet colony located on Bass Rock. With a breeding population that exceeds 150,000, this gathering of seabirds is a sight to behold. Two consecutive trips to the island were cancelled due to dangerous conditions brought on by the swell. It was on a cold, wet morning that my third attempt traveling to the island was a success. I captured this image of the Northern Gannet tucking its head under its wings, protecting itself from the harsh elements, forming the perfect egg shape.'⁠
