We started the day wandering through Chinatown for portraits, headed to Old City Hall for the ceremony, and finished the afternoon with more photos around Osgoode Hall.

I included the timestamps throughout this reel because I know one of the questions I get asked most often is what a three-hour wedding day actually looks like.
The answer? More than you’d think.

Three hours was enough time for portraits, the ceremony, family photos, quiet moments together, and, of course, plenty of celebrating.

POV: You think you’re walking into a regular City Hall wedding... then the bride shows up in the most stunning white saree.

Everyone stopped for a second.

Then came the first look.
The biggest smile on his face, a few happy tears, and one of those moments you don’t need to direct because it’s already perfect.

A reminder that your wedding doesn’t have to be big to feel unforgettable. Sometimes all it takes is the right person, your favourite people around you, and an outfit that feels so you. 🤍

The pigeons were paid actors 🙂‍↕️

The session started with, “We don’t really take photos and we don’t know how to pose.”

1 hour later, they were running along the shoreline, laughing at each other, watching birds skim across the water, and completely forgetting there was a camera pointed at them.

Lorna and Jesse drove four hours for this session, and somehow the Bluffs gave us everything. Golden hour spilling across the cliffs, calm water that looked almost painted, birds flying overhead, and that quiet blue hour glow that makes everything feel a little softer.

The best part? None of these photos came from knowing how to pose.

They came from slowing down, being present, and trusting the process.

September can’t come soon enough. If this engagement session is any indication of what’s ahead, their wedding day is going to be something special.

Frances and Eric’s wedding day was a reminder that the best love stories don’t need much.

A simple ceremony at City Hall. Portraits wandering through downtown Toronto. An evening spent celebrating with their favourite people at the Gladstone Hotel.

No elaborate production. Just a day that felt like them.

There’s something about seeing a love story through film that hits differently. The grain, the movement, the way moments flicker by. It feels less like watching a wedding and more like finding a treasured family film years from now.

The way they looked at each other after the ceremony. The quiet moments between portraits. The laughter during dinner and drinks. Small moments that might seem ordinary at the time but end up becoming the memories you hold onto the longest.

A wedding day doesn’t have to be extravagant to be unforgettable.
Sometimes all you need is your person, your people, and a story worth remembering.

One thing nobody talks about enough?

How much better photos turn out when you genuinely get along with the people you’re photographing.

Elaine and Renzoe’s engagement session at Mint Room Studios felt less like work and more like spending an afternoon with friends. From the moment we started, the conversation flowed, the jokes kept coming, and before long they completely forgot there was a camera in the room.

That comfort changes everything.

You don’t need to know how to pose. You don’t need to be naturally photogenic. You don’t need to practice in the mirror beforehand.

You just need to feel comfortable enough to be yourselves.
The best moments from this session weren’t the perfectly posed ones. They were the laughs between directions, the little looks they gave each other, and the moments where they got lost in their own world for a second.

That’s always what I’m chasing.

The Library Room was the perfect backdrop. Cozy, romantic, and full of character. But what really made these photos was Elaine and Renzoe. Their energy, their connection, and how willing they were to trust the process and have fun with it.

If your biggest fear is feeling awkward in front of the camera, you’re probably exactly the kind of couple I love working with.
Because chances are, ten minutes in, we’ll be laughing about something completely unrelated to photos.

And that’s usually when the magic happens 📸

People are starting to question how much of a wedding is actually for them versus how much of it is performance.

So they got ready together.
No forced separation all morning for the sake of a reaction photo later. No pretending they hadn’t already built a life together before the ceremony.

She wore velvet red because white never felt connected to her identity or personality. And somehow that choice alone made the day feel more honest.

They got married at City Hall, walked through downtown for portraits, let the city exist around them instead of trying to control every second of it, then ate street meat afterwards on the sidewalk still dressed in wedding clothes 🌭🍟

And weirdly, that sequence of events felt more romantic than most highly produced weddings.

Maybe intimacy has less to do with luxury and more to do with emotional accuracy.
Maybe the reason these smaller weddings resonate so deeply is because there’s less distance between the people and the experience itself.

No spectacle.
No expectation to perform sentimentality.
Just two people making choices that actually reflected who they are 🫶🏻

12 years ago, Jeremy asked Izza to be his girlfriend at the skating rink in Nathan Phillips Square.

I got to photograph them returning to that exact spot… as husband and wife after saying “I do” at Toronto City Hall.

And honestly? That’s the kind of wedding magic people don’t talk about enough. It’s not always about the fanciest venue or the biggest production.
