When I was a young kid, I picked up the original Kenner Leia on an outing with my parents. It’s one of my earliest memories. I opened it up in the back seat of the car and immediately lost her gun. I have the most vivid memories of looking for it in a panic. It’s one of my first memories of my journey on Earth. Tan leather seats with endless creases for that little gun to get lost in. I remember my mom saying it would turn up. Here we are on the year 2021 and it still hasn’t turned up. But this Archived Leia from the Black Series found it’s way to me in a mystical way, and now I’ve started on my toy photography path. I wasn’t planning on shooting anything until later in the year, but here we are. I have a background in human photography, but a lot of it translates the same. I shot this with a 40mm Batis on a Sony R7iii, if you’re into knowing such things. I need to figure out the right lens for these guys. The background and set is a piece of white wrapping paper rolled out to make a seamless. All of the red is coming from lighting. Some with red gells, and the back is flooded with two Led Whiz lights that can be adjusted to any color via app. Then I hit it with a lume cube and a snoot to make that spotlight behind her head. Shout out to for asking for a photo of her head, which pushed me into setting things up and getting going.
