Straight ahead, the CN Tower stretches into the sky, piercing through the golden light reflecting off the surrounding high-rises. Just past the bustle of the crosswalks sits the classic limestone facade of Union Station. There is a specific kind of magic that only happens during a Toronto summer afternoon. You find a perfect patch of shade in a hilltop park, layout a blanket, and just look out over the entire downtown skyline shimmering in the heat. Up here, the city looks like a massive canvas of glass and steel, but down in the park, it’s just the sound of friends laughing, a cool breeze through the leaves, and nowhere else to be.
