This goose is a Barnacle Goose. It is commonly referred to as a Canada Goose in Sweden. It does look a little similar, but they are generally of lighter colours.

But to make things even more confusing, as Jesper Viking and I found out recently, there are actual Canada Geese in Europe. Introduced there in the 1800's, there are approximately 13,000 in Sweden alone.

BUT WAIT, we aren't done yet! We are gonna triple the confusion here, because Canada Geese and Barnacle Geese are able to mate, and have offspring, creating a hybrid.

So much drama in the Swedish Goose population. đŸ˜‚

Keeping up with the Lake Louise and Banff love, a few more pictures. This one includes the mandatory lake shot from the shore. With the mists on the mountains and soft snow falling, it really felt like I was transported into a completely different world. I was waiting for a dragon to fly through the gap.

Over in Alberta and British Columbia, the Rockies tower over both provinces. One of the most famous sites in the world amongst these gargantuan rocks is Lake Louise. Renowned for its crystal clear blue water, and epic sight lines, this was truly one of my favourite places in all of Canada. Even with a snow storm falling all around.
