Alright folks, our March fundraiser has come to an end! 57 keychains, 37 magnets, 17 tote bags, 16 coasters, 3 prints, and 1 set of postcards later, the lung cancer research department of the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation has received a donation of $160.

I really don’t have the words to articulate my gratitude for everyone who made a purchase, shared an Instagram post, or helped me out with anything from design advice to business suggestions— it all means so much to me. I wanna give an extra big thank-you to the staff at 60 Minute Photo Lab for doing my prints (I’ve been a loyal customer for about five years now and they remain the best of the best) and the entire team at Yorkdale’s Body Shop, who melt my damn heart with their unending support.

Being able to contribute to lung cancer research makes me hopeful that someone else might one day receive better news when it’s their dad in the doctor’s office. So from the very bottom of my heart, thank you.

Hey there, pals! From now until March 31st, I’ll be donating 50% of profits from my online shop’s sales to the Lung Cancer Research Department of the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation in Toronto, Ontario.

This March marks five years since I lost my dad to lung cancer, and since his death I’ve been determined to both give back to the Princess Margaret team and contribute to advancing lung cancer treatment. According to the Canadian Cancer Society, lung cancer is “the leading cause of death from cancer for both men and women in Canada” yet it remains severely underfunded, due partly to its low survival rates and to the stigma that continues to surround addiction. By donating to the PMCF, it’s my hope that lung cancer patients and their families can one day receive a better prognosis.

The entire PMH team - the doctors, nurses, reception staff, security guards - showed us incredible kindness throughout my dad’s treatment. They brought in extra chairs so our massive family could be with him in his last days, they made him comfortable in every appointment, and some of the world’s top-tier oncologists took time to make sure we were doing okay. Princess Margaret is a beacon of hope in some of the darkest moments for a lot of families, and donating to the PMCF seems like the best way to honour Mike Babad’s legacy. That, and snacking on a bag of Wavy Lays.

There are a ton of other great ways to support families affected by cancer, too. Whether it’s donating financially, giving blood, or lighting a candle in someone’s memory, a little can go a long way— and I hope that together we can make someone’s future look a little brighter.

We’re celebrating two years of Lupine Imagery, and trust me, I’m just as surprised as you that I’ve stuck with something this long.

And what better way to celebrate lil Lupine becoming a toddler than with a couple fun facts? Here we go!!

1. My first camera was a gift from my sister, and one day when I’m rich and famous she’ll be the first one I thank.

2. My favourite thing to shoot these days is dance. (But bridges remain a close second!)

3. Jim Marshall is my favourite photographer. Jim Marshall is the goal.

4. Sometimes wanting to make a career out of my art can feel stressful, so lately to keep photography fun and low-stakes I’ve gotten into shooting film just for me and I LOVE it.

5. Lupine’s named for two things, because we love a good play on words— the lupine flower, which symbolizes happiness, and the wolf, which my sweet pup Kylo bore a concerning resemblance to. (I actually made my logo! And you can tell!)

Happy birthday, Lupine, buddy. I’m like kinda proud of us.

Returning clients make my heart so full. 🤍

I kicked off my Fall photoshoot promotion last weekend with this lovely bunch, and lost count of how many times I said "oh my god, you guys are JUST like my sister and me!!"

100% of proceeds from my shoots right now are going to CAMH in honour of Mental Health Day on October 10th, a cause very near to my heart. And I'm so so grateful for all the support I've gotten.
