Cocktail hour may not be talked about as much as other events during the wedding day; however, it can be one of the most memorable portions of a wedding as couples mingle, sip and celebrate with their guests. There is always such a happy buzz that comes with welcoming guests and reuniting with friends & family!

If you would like to be present for cocktail hour on your wedding day, how can you plan the day so that you still have time for your ‘must have’ photos?

✨Plan to have the bulk of your formal ‘must have’ photos taken before the wedding ceremony

✨Communicate the group photos you’d like to have during cocktail hour with us before the wedding day so that we can remind you the day of

✨Speak with your planner & venue to find out how long cocktail hour is scheduled for. If it feels like it will be difficult to have all your ‘must have’ photos taken before the ceremony, consider lengthening the time between the ceremony and dinner by even 30 minutes to allow time for both formal photos and to enjoy the time with your guests.

For those who are new here and those who’ve been with us for a while, we’re the team behind Ugo Photography, Junilo and Lindsay Ugo.

We met years ago in Toronto and built a life together. Today we’re partners in marriage, in work and life. We spent nearly a decade living in Spain, where we learned to adapt, learn another culture with openness and to value time and connection from a completely new perspective.

Last year brought a quiet and very personal shift for us; losing my dad changed how we understand time and the importance of making every moment count with the people we love. That perspective has taken on a whole new meaning and influences more than ever how we photograph: creating images that hold meaning long after the wedding celebrations have passed.

Photographing our couples’ weddings is the greatest honour and we approach it as we would our own family, guided by intention, kindness and honesty.

K & N’s wedding weekend was intentional from beginning to end.

Returning home from London, UK to celebrate, it felt like the happiest homecoming! Choosing the family’s summer estate, a place full of memories and meaning, made their wedding not just beautiful, but deeply personal.
