Is focus important? No… when you’re focused on the music, the focus in the frame starts to lose its importance...

Final post from my F for Flamenco Festival series: F for Familia.

Makeda Benitez (.benitez) and Kirill Deljanin (.deljanin) brought such youthful fire and emotion to the stage, accompanied by the incredible energy of Shirlita “La Pili” (.pili), Nicolas Hernández (), and Dani Carbonell (.macar.percu).

A joyful ending to a beautiful festival filled with music, dance, sweat, emotion, friendships, and unforgettable moments. Feeling very lucky to have witnessed and photographed all of it.

Sixth post from my F for Flamenco Festival 2026 series: F for Frontera.

This year’s F for Frontera brought back ALCHEMY, one of the most emotionally intense and visually beautiful flamenco productions I’ve had the chance to photograph. Blending flamenco, contemporary dance, and live music, the performance explored transformation, collapse, rebuilding, and everything in between.

On stage:
Alison MacDonald () — Artistic Director, Dance;
Rocio Conde () — Dance;
Kiyo Asaoka () — Dance;
Alex Herrera () — Dance;
Sebastian “Bash” Hirtenstein () — Dance;
Benjamin Barrile (.barrile) — Musical Director, Guitar;
Ana Lía () — Voice;
Alvaro Echanove () — Voice;
George Crotty () — Cello;
Dani Carbonell (.macar.percu) — Percussion.

The production also carried the artistic fingerprints of Mariana Collado (), Jose Maldonado (), Javier La Torre (), Alfonso Acosta Pantera (), Roy Vargas, and many others behind the scenes.

I also had the chance to photograph ALCHEMY last year at The Wi******er Theatre (), and some of those photos are still somewhere in my older posts if you feel like travelling back in time a little.

Fifth post from my F for Flamenco Festival series: F for Flamenca. An entire evening built around the power of women in flamenco, something still far too rare to witness on one stage.

Mariana Collado (), Myriam Allard (), Antonia JimĂŠnez (), and Teresa HernĂĄndez () filled Randolph Theatre with strength, elegance, fire, and emotion from beginning to end. And honestly, photographing at the beautiful Randolph Theatre for the first time made the night even more exciting for me. More from the festival series coming soon.

Final night of the “F For Feliz” series at Drom Taberna ().

Antonia JimĂŠnez (), Alvaro Echanove (), Tamar Ilana (), Lia Grainger (.official), Makeda Benitez (.benitez), and Kiyo Asaoka () turned the room into one of those nights where flamenco felt raw, loud, emotional, and completely alive.

The festival series will continue with F for Flamenca.

Third post from my F for Flamenco Festival 2026 series.

Matt Sellick (), Lia Grainger (.official), Marito Marques (), and Jim Creeggan () created one of those performances where you could almost feel the rhythm moving through the room.

And yes… seeing Jim Creeggan, the bassist of Ba*****ed Ladies, inside a flamenco collaboration at Drom Taberna somehow felt both unexpected and completely natural at the same time.

More from the festival series coming soon.

Second post from my F for Flamenco Festival series.

Monday night, April 13th, at Drom Taberna () was one of those beautifully intense flamenco nights where you forget about time for a while.

Sarah Varichon (.wassa), Sofi GudiĂąo (), Javier Advani (), and Nicolas HernĂĄndez () created such a warm and powerful atmosphere together.

More from the festival series coming soon.

The first post from my F for Flamenco Festival 2026 series by Fabcollab. () This opening show took place on April 12 at Drom Taberna (), one of the few places in Toronto where I truly feel at home with my camera.

What a beautiful night it was.

Tamar Ilana (), Demetrios Petsalakis (), Benjamin Barrile (.barrile), Jaron Freeman-Fox (), Andrew Pacheco (.bass), Dani Magliano (.macar.percu), and special guests Antonia JimĂŠnez () and Angela DĂŠiseach () filled the room with flamenco, Mediterranean, Balkan, and countless other colours impossible to separate from one another.

Choosing only around 20 favourite photos from each show was honestly painful 😅 Maybe some of the photos I didn’t share will appear one day in an exhibition… who knows?

Stay tuned for the next posts from the festival series.
