As an artist, I’ve grown to embrace the idea of permanence through art as I’ve had time to explore paintings by the great artists before me. Film photography speaks this truth as it embraces the moment and instills uncertainty in my workflow, allowing me to let go and trust the process, vision, and what is. The idea of light hitting a negative and capturing the moment is special because that moment is permanent, whether the scan or edit is altered. There’s a deep sense of a moment that once was as it was, and allowed to be as it was, which brings a sense of joy to my creative expression.
This image was made with one of my favourite clients—or let’s just say, one of the new client types I allow to work with me as I grow as a photographer—, who also values depth and continuity. This image is part of a collection of rediscovery and love for art, as I partner with Odudu to capture his journey deeper into the now, growing his lovely new architectural space called .studio. I urge you to follow his journey and approach toward architectural design.
