Title: A Roar Heard Around the World

I’m grateful and excited to share some additional wonderful news with everyone. This year I’ve been blessed with another special recognition in my photography journey.

Out of more than 30,000 submissions from photographers around the world, my “Roaring Lion” color image has been selected for publication in the newest issue of UCP Magazine (Universe of Color Photography).

UCP highlights some of the most inspiring and talented photographers globally, and the judges select images that capture emotion, tell compelling stories, and show strong artistic vision. I’m truly honoured that my photograph was chosen.

As part of this recognition, the image has also received the UCP Excellence Award along with their Master of Excellence of Photography Certificate, an honour given to a select group of photographers whose work represents the best in colour photography.

This image was captured during a recent safari, and hearing that lion’s powerful roar echo across the savannah is a moment I’ll never forget.

I’m incredibly proud, humbled, and thankful for the support many of you have shown throughout my journey.

Total Lunar Eclipse – Clear Skies Change Everything

There’s something magical about witnessing a Total Lunar Eclipse. I headed out early this morning excited to watch the moon transform from silver to that deep, glowing orange. It’s one of those moments that reminds me why I love photographing the night sky.

Last year, I spent six hours outside capturing the entire eclipse sequence. The night was crystal clear and cool — not a single cloud in sight. The results were spectacular. Every phase was sharp, detailed, and perfectly visible.

This morning was different. Light clouds drifted through the sky. You could still see the eclipse unfold, but it simply wasn’t the same. The single moon image here was the best frame I could capture today. The full sequence image is from my March 2025 Total Lunar Eclipse Collection. Side by side, you can clearly see the difference.

Honored By The Wild, Humbled By Recognition

I have been blessed again this month and I’m proud to share some wonderful news. I was selected by a distinguished panel of judges and curators from thousands of entries by NOIR Magazine (Black & White Photography) as a 2025 Photographer of the Year in the Animal Portrait Photography category.

With that honor, I received the Silver Camera Award 2025, the highest achievement from NOIR Photo Magazine. The awarded image is a powerful portrait of a roaring lion, captured while I was recently on safari in Kenya’s Serengeti.

The winners are featured in a special NOIR Magazine Photographer of the Year collection alongside many talented photographers from around the world. I feel incredibly grateful to be included among such inspiring artists.

A Tribute - Which Version of Gehry’s Vision Speaks to You?

I captured Frank Gehry’s incredible Museum of Music in Seattle years ago, and with his recent passing, I’ve been thinking about how much his work meant to me. His flowing metal forms felt alive, almost musical, and standing beneath them was like watching architecture dance. Today I’m sharing both my color and black-and-white images of this masterpiece in his honor. I’d love to know which version speaks to you the most. As we say goodbye to one of the greats, I know I’ll truly miss the bold imagination he brought to our world. I can't wait to capture more of his buildings.

Can you feel the power in that stare?

The African Leopard in a Tree is one of the most elusive and breathtaking sights in the wild. During my safari to witness the Great Migration, I came across this majestic predator resting gracefully on a tree branch. Our guide maneuvered carefully into position, giving me the perfect angle to capture this rare and powerful moment. The leopard’s golden eyes, the intricate rosettes on its coat, and the warm glow of the late afternoon light all came together in perfect harmony. As I pressed the shutter, I felt a deep respect for this symbol of strength and elegance. This image reminds me of nature’s quiet power and the privilege of being in its presence.

Witness nature’s sweetest golden embrace!

Golden Monkey photography is one of Rwanda’s rarest treasures, and capturing this intimate scene was unforgettable. After recently spending days with the famous gorilla families in Volcanoes National Park, we set out to find the elusive Golden Monkey. Hiking into the lush park, our trackers found a lively troop of 30–40 monkeys, their gold, brown, and orange fur glowing in the soft light. Among the playful group, one tender moment stopped me in my tracks—a mother nursing her child, calm and protective amid the chaos. Her patient gaze and the baby’s quiet trust mirrored the bond between human mothers and their children. Photographing this connection was profoundly moving, reminding me of the universal language of love. This print is perfect for anyone who wants to bring warmth, wonder, and a touch of wild beauty into their space.

Can you imagine locking eyes with a silverback gorilla?

Gorilla Portrait photography has always been a dream of mine. For years I researched, planned, and prepared for the chance to capture a close-up of these incredible animals in Rwanda. Recently the moment finally came as I scaled the side of a volcano and suddenly found myself only 8 feet from this massive silverback. My heart raced between nervousness and awe, knowing I was in the presence of a leader who shares 98% of our DNA. With my zoom lens locked in, I focused on capturing his strength and soul in one perfect headshot. His piercing amber eyes met my own as I clicked away, shifting angles to find the image that would speak to both his power and his quiet dignity. This final edited print, to me, embodies that unforgettable encounter. I feel blessed to have been this close and got to capture this image. This photo recreates for me the experience and the thrill of standing face-to-face with one of the rarest and most majestic creatures on earth. More to come from my recent safari to East Africa.

Have you ever seen the galaxy's heart?
This Milky Way Print captures the galaxy’s core in a breathtaking near-vertical orientation. Planning this shot took weeks of preparation, using the Photo Pills app to determine the precise time and position for the Milky Way to align above a serene lake. On arriving at the north end of the lake, I discovered a perfect flat rock extending over the water, as if nature had placed it there just for me.

Photographing the Milky Way is both technical and creative. The challenge lies in balancing long exposures, multiple frames, and blending to reveal the galaxy’s rich textures without losing the delicate star details. After four hours of scouting, setting up my cameras, and waiting for the exact moment, the stars aligned—literally—and I captured a series of shots to create this final masterpiece.

Is this the most stunning library architecture?

Library Architecture lovers, this one is for you. While Prague is one of my favorite cities in the world, nothing prepared me for the grandeur of the Strahov Monastery Library, one of the best-preserved examples of historical library architecture. The Theological Hall, dating back to 1671, is a Baroque masterpiece, housing over 200,000 precious volumes.

The ceiling frescoes by Siard Nosecký and Anton Maulbertsch are so detailed and rich in colour, they make the entire space feel like a sacred temple of knowledge. I used a tripod to carefully capture a series of bracketed shots, blending them to showcase the full range of light, detail, and texture in the scene. The result is an image that’s not just a photograph, but a celebration of human creativity, art, and intellect. If library architecture stirs your soul, this print belongs in your collection.

Is this Dubai’s most surreal design yet?

Dubai Architecture is always pushing the boundaries of design, but this one took my breath away. As a fan of bold Dubai Architecture, I was eager to find the only building in the city designed by the late Zaha Hadid, a true icon in the world of design. After hunting through the modern skyline, I finally found it—her masterpiece.

Its shimmering blue glass, fluid form, and that striking void in the center made it feel more like a sculpture than a building. I walked around, exploring angles, watching the reflections shift with the light. Then, from one perfect vantage point, it all came together—the Hadid design flanked by other towers and the unmistakable Burj Khalifa glowing in the sunset.

This image captures what I love most about architecture—emotion, movement, and story. For me, it’s a tribute to a visionary woman whose legacy reshaped skylines forever.
