Im constantly reminded while out hunting for the perfect shot that not everything needs to be perfect. In today’s world we get so lost in striving for perfection but sometimes mistakes are beautiful too. Honestly this is one of my favourite shots from that 100 year old camera. Plus a little reminder that I need to advance my film🙈

Crazy to think that this camera is over 100 years old and still works but it was really fun exploring Ottawa with it this Christmas. I went out during the snow storm to explore the city. With lots of trial and error and only 8 shots per roll I wanted to capture the snowstorm like an old timey Christmas movie.

Part of my pre-shoot consults is understanding how my couples want to be photographed. For Ashton and Marisa, that meant leaving room for candid moments as well as a few intentional ones, too.

From adding stickers to their wedding party journal, to belting out favourites downstairs at karaoke and GarageBand, we carved out space for moments that felt playful, personal, and very them.
