I do headshots, did you know?!
My favourite way to photograph entrepreneur and creative headshots is as environmental portraits, and here's why ⬇️
1) Personality! People hire you and/or retain your services because they want to work with YOU. Allowing your personality to shine through in your headshots will engage your potential clients and help them relate to you as a person.
2) Props! Showing people what you work with in your headshots will help them place you as a service provider - if you're a photographer, the chances of clients getting to know you without a camera in your hands are pretty low 😉
3) Placement! Photographing you in the environment that clients are likely to meet you in in person (or somewhere similar), or in a place that embodies your personality and/or the service you offer, allows them to relate to you and get a better sense of how they'll feel in your presence should they retain your services.
Corporate headshots have their time and place, companies need them to show a cohesive brand and professional appearance - Creative headshots allow more freedom to display your personality and relate to your potential client base well before they ever make contact with you.
