When L&T expressed that their perfect date was skating out on a beautiful outdoor rink, I knew we were going to have some fun and their engagement session was going to feel natural and effortless.

They weren’t worrying about how they looked, they were just being themselves, having a great time and being present in the moment. Skating fast, grabbing onto each other, making jokes, getting covered in snow and just laughing and having so much fun!

Honestly, this was such an amazing session for me - to watch two people totally in love with each other, do something they love to do together and the result was a beautiful gallery of photos - with a fun experience attached to it.

I love it when engagement sessions are personalized to the couple and not just a pretty spot in nature somewhere. Your engagement photos should be about who you are now as a couple so that in 20, 30 or many years beyond that - you can remember who you were, the fun you had and the love you shared with your partner ❤️

Sometimes you just have to let the kiddos lead 🥰

I love it when kids can be kids during family sessions - they really do open your eyes to some of the simplest forms of enjoyment. Collecting and throwing rocks in a lake? I think we can all attest to doing this as a kid so to take photos of this little one doing this took me right back to childhood ❤️

I collected rocks all summer long with my grandma at the cottage - every single walk we went on for years - I’d come back with a small collection. The sparkle and shine in some of those rocks was mesmerizing and to be truly honest - I still have a bunch and they are now living in our garden pots 😆

This family session touched on some of the simple joys in childhood and it was so much fun! Looking forward to all the magic and childhood wonder I get to capture this year ❤️

TW: Miscarriage

This was the hardest holiday season we’ve ever had.

We knew we were going to lose the pregnancy, and that loss came during the holidays. I spent the 23rd, 24th, and 26th in the hospital.

No family Christmas dinners. No gatherings. No sense of normal. All of it was cancelled.

What surprised me most wasn’t just the grief - but how isolating it felt (again). The care I needed wasn’t there in the ways I expected.

A few friends did show up with presence and support, and I will never forget that.

One of the hardest things is how little we talk about miscarriage at all.

How many people don’t understand what it actually does to a body - the hormonal crash, the emotional whiplash, the deep exhaustion, life continuing to pile up, and the very real need for care while all of that is happening on top of grieving.

There’s also this quiet expectation that you’ll explain what you need, even when you’re barely holding yourself together.

Grief doesn’t just live in your heart - it shows up in the everyday, when the dishes pile up, the laundry feels impossible, and feeding yourself suddenly takes way more energy than you have.

We live in a world where you can Google almost anything in seconds, yet grief still makes people uncomfortable enough to look away - especially from the woman, friend, daughter, or niece whose body carried it.

We started this year still recovering from our first loss, and we’re ending it recovering from our second.

That’s not what I expected.

I’m saying this out loud because silence makes it lonelier than it needs to be.

If you’ve been through this too, I’m so sorry. You’re not alone.

Amanda & Mark really put together a wedding!

Narrowing down images from their day was so hard - there were just that many moments, that much fun, and so much heart packed into one day.

They are such a laid-back couple, and you could feel it throughout the day. Everything flowed effortlessly (which, let’s be honest, also had a lot to do with how organized they were). I still remember Amanda showing me her wedding planning document - my jaw dropped. It was beautiful, incredibly detailed, and so thoughtfully laid out.

That level of care meant they could fully enjoy their day from beginning to end - present, relaxed, and actually living in it (you can see it in the last pic)! And honestly - that’s HUGE. There’s so much pressure now for weddings to be so damn ‘perfect’ but this day was about feeling good!

A laid-back, heartfelt celebration at The Spice Factory, full of laughter, happy tears, and personal touches (including stationery designed by Amanda herself). Every part of the day felt intentional without ever feeling forced.

Exactly the kind of wedding I adore photographing ❤️

When Lauren’s dad told me he’d bought several bottles of wine from the year she was born - just so they could be opened on her wedding day - my heart just about melted. 🥹

He said it so casually, but the meaning behind it hit me instantly. Thirty-five years of love, memory, and anticipation - all sealed inside those bottles. A small gesture that quietly carried decades of intention, waiting for this exact day to arrive.

It’s those kinds of moments that always stop me in my tracks. The ones that remind me that weddings aren’t just about what’s happening now, but about everything that’s led to this moment - all the care, the thought, and the stories that brought everyone here.

L&J’s wedding at Earth to Table Farm was such a reflection of that energy - thoughtful, joyful, and filled with so much heart. The earthy greens, soft blush tones, and candlelight created the most romantic, grounded atmosphere. And the florals? Absolute magic.

It was an honour to capture every detail… especially one that began nearly 35 years ago. 🤍

I’ve been sitting with this for a few days because it still doesn’t feel real - holy s**t - I just won a Fearless Award!!!!

Earlier this year, I applied to be a Fearless Photographer - and got in - something that’s quietly been on my heart for years. Since starting my business in 2013, I’ve looked up to so many photographers in this space.

There was so much inspiration - a way to see the day and push beyond the traditional boundaries of the perfect, pretty photo. It was about emotional intuition.. really hearing and feeling the heartbeat of the day.

Fearless Photographers changed the shape of the wedding industry. Without it, those in-between moments might never have been celebrated the way they are today. Since its start in 2010, it’s helped shift the industry toward emotion, imperfection, and humanity - redefining what a ‘perfect’ wedding photo looks like.

So ya.. I entered my first contest in August, and somehow… I WON. WHAT?! Fearless Awards are notoriously hard to get - which makes this recognition even more surreal and humbling.

✨ I’ve got my 1st Fearless Award ✨

‘Fearless’ feels like the perfect word for this milestone - because it’s how I’ve always shot (and tried to live my life) - with emotional risk and vulnerability.

Damn, this feels good! 👊🏽

Endless gratitude to the Fearless judges this round and to Huy Nguyen for creating a space that continues to challenge and inspire photographers around the world!

Feeling grateful and Fearless AF!

I have honestly never cried so much at a wedding ❤️ The heart that these two have and the love surrounding them could fill 10 rooms! Their day was beautiful, intimate and full of so much fun and joy ☺️

They left the sweetest review and I could not be more grateful they chose me to capture such a special day ❤️

“We cannot thank Caitlin enough for the incredible work she did capturing our wedding day. From the very beginning, she made us feel completely at ease in front of the camera - something neither of us thought possible. Her calm, friendly presence allowed us to relax and simply enjoy the day, while she worked seamlessly in the background to capture every special moment.

The photos themselves are absolutely stunning. Caitlin has an incredible eye for detail, emotion, and light, and every picture feels both natural and timeless. She didn’t just document our wedding - she told the story of it, from the big moments to the little glances and laughter in between.

What truly stood out was her dedication. She stayed longer than expected to ensure important evening moments were captured, going above and beyond to give us a complete memory of the day. That kind of care and commitment is rare, and we are so grateful.

We will treasure these photos for a lifetime. If you’re looking for a photographer who is not only talented but also genuinely invested in making your experience wonderful, Caitlin is the one.“

Thank you J&Q ❤️

The best part about October weddings? The sun sets early enough that you can slip away during cocktail hour and no one even notices you’re gone!

We wandered into the vineyard just as the light was softening, and they sank into each other so naturally it felt like I wasn’t even there. You can see it in the way they hold each other - present, real, fully in love.

This is why I love couples who can be present with each other. No performance, no pretending. Just the joy of being together, wrapped up in something bigger than the day itself 💛

Would you step away from cocktail hour for photos like these?
