Call it destiny or kismet, or maybe good old fashion serendipity. The point being, that however many roads I have found myself wandering I have always found myself back here; a camera in hand and the irresistible, spine tingling, heart squeezing joy of taking photographs of people. Those secret sweet smiles, the ridiculous inside jokes or goofy grins of genuine affection just keep me coming back f

or more. I love these moments! And most importantly, I want to help capture these moments for you. I want to have fun and laugh with you. I want to show you how inspiring your love is to the people around you. Better yet, I want to show you how you inspire that special someone everyday. To me every couple is a timeless love story and every bride and groom beautiful inside and out. So call it destiny, fate, kismet or something else, nothing would be sweeter than taking my camera and telling your story.

I am just going to place a bunch of random photos here today from June. Why June? Well for me June was when the current, I dunno, let’s say miasma started building. The news of the inevitable countdown hadn’t even been realized yet, and somehow.. June started the preparation for me. It was a shift.. I felt it. And here we are.

I put these random photos together in July after the text, “stopping treatment” came in. 

Countdown begins. 

What do you do with that? Where do you put that knowing? And in that all encompassing knowing.. who cares about making sense, when really nothing makes sense. You struggle, you find peace, you struggle again, you find peace again.. shift to shift to shift. We are so fluid aren’t we? 

And then here we are in August, and less than 48 hours into it.. the countdown struck zero. The knowing became the known. The countdown changes from “how many days/weeks/months till…” to, “how many days/weeks/years since..”

I guess not surprisingly.. this side of the countdown is the same. Struggle, peace, struggle again, peace again… 

so I write this for my mother. He was her partner. He was her love. This is really her grief I share -that I hope I can help carry, maybe.. 

I mean, how does this all work really?

Slow and steady into the new year we go. I do actually feel a little bad that this account gets these large bouts of inactivity! Especially since I still shoot and have a bucket load of images to share. Either my own personal stuff or fabulous second shooting images with 🙌 but maybe that’s just the way of it. So whether this reaches 10 ppl or 100 it’s always nice to drop in and say hi lol 😝

Omg two posts in a week! What will the algorithms do with such a flood of activity 🤪 but really it’s because on my run the other day I saw a tree with the leaves already changing colour and now I am oscillating between “oh no! The summer wedding colours! I’m not ready for them to go!!” And “oh yes yes yes witchy autumn coolness is coming!!” - I mean there’s still time but I think you get my point. The change is afoot!

I probably could do like a 50 slide carousel from this day if I could but alas 10 will have to do.. for now lol Working with was such a dream. Especially when she teams up with Christine - just two creative powerhouse vibes pulsing through out the whole day. I already shared my two cents about this day ages ago cuz it was so inspiring to watch and experience so no need to get all gushy again lol just bask in the pure awesomeness that is ribbons, wind and retro cool!

I’m not exactly sure how much to reveal about this day. I mean first off, this is family!! And secondly .. what can anyone say when words like “wedding”, “party”, and “honeymoon” get replaced with “treatments” “appointments” and “specialists”.

So maybe you don’t say anything. Maybe you just focus on how stunning your cousin looks and get way to obsessed with her princess of a dog 😂 and maybe you wonder if your uncles farm land has the potential to be a wedding venue cuz that ceremony space looks amazing! Or you laugh because your grandmother doesn’t speak a lick of English despite being in Canada for over 40 years and my Polish has gotten so bad that all we do is just smile and hug each other knowing the love is big big between us even tho we can’t quite talk to each other anymore.

And then maybe, just maybe words like “treatments”, “appointments” and “specialists” are over shadowed by “grateful”, “loved” and “happy”.

When you decide to raise money for cancer and your first team ride is on one of the coldest days in April!!

Also todays is a match day for fundraising so if we raise $300 then It will be matched 1:1! And I'll be $600 closer to my goal of $2500 :D
