Jennifer van Son Photography Wedding & Lifestyle Photographer based in Toronto, ON. I learned that I love people, I love parties, and I love… love. So this industry was a perfect fit.

I’m obsessed with all things wedding and am so lucky to be able to work with amazing couples & families who make my job even sweeter. I joined the wedding industry over a decade ago… as a wedding singer, not really related to photography at all – but this was an important part of my journey into the wedding world. I’m based out of Durham Region but provide wedding photography to Toronto, the enti

re GTA, and beyond. Photography is a joy & a priveledge for me. Being given a sneak peek into the lives of my clients is such an honour and I don’t take the responsibility lightly. Life is a beautiful thing and I want to capture every breathtaking moment. I would love to hear from you so please contact me to discuss your wedding, family, or portrait photography needs – or if you just want to chat about photography. I’m all ears! Looking forward to hearing from you! xo ~ Jen

In honour of Toy Story 5, here’s my beautiful friend Ash humouring me in mid day sun with perfect Pixar clouds all around her ☁️. I might get into the habit of forcing friends to help me finish off film rolls… should I? .adams

Manifesting some Toronto magic for the next few weeks. Wedding season is back starting Saturday and my stomach is butterfly central 🦋.
Until things kick off Saturday, I’ll throw it back to this romantic little early morning engagement session on the Esplanade

Had to… these things are universal Toronto wedding horrors. But I love this job so much, even when your guests are releasing gas during the cha-cha slide.

A hill I’ll die on… dresses look better when they’re on. Don’t get me wrong, a beautiful dress hung with care, waiting to be worn, can make for a special image! But wedding dresses are tailored to fit on your unique body perfectly. They will never look better than they do when they are being worn.
A couple quiet shots to honour this beautiful gown before an intimate backyard Toronto wedding.

IMHO I don’t think you need a traditional full hour of couples portraits on your wedding day. Try this instead:

• Your first look, followed by a few minutes to capture that exciting moment and feeling. Then maybe your friends or family join you to knock some of those group photos out before the ceremony starts.
• You exit your ceremony and we capture a few moments of you alone, soaking in the vibes. Maybe a quick “just married” portrait.
• As cocktail hour begins to wrap up we sneak away for about 10 minutes to capture some portraits of the two of you as your guests are seated for dinner.
• A quick sunset or night break - 5 minutes to revel in the quiet before the party goes crazy
Your wedding day should be so fun! You deserve to enjoy as much time with your guests as you can. And if any of these moments seem excessive to you, don’t be shy about letting your photographer know. If you’re not a portraits kind of couple, that’s OK too! Clear and honest communication with your vendor team helps us ensure the best wedding experience possible for you!
