Got a 2-year conditional green card through marriage? Don’t miss this step. www.ArdinaLawImmigration.com
If you were married less than 2 years when your green card was approved, you got a conditional green card.
Before it expires, you MUST file Form I-751 — Petition to Remove Conditions within the 90 days before your card expires.
And Yes, it can take around 2 years to get approved — totally normal.
⚠️ While you’re waiting:
• Your green card may expire
• In this case, your I-751 receipt notice extends your status
• You can work and travel legally
✈️ Pro tip: Carry both your expired green card AND your I-751 receipt notice when traveling.
🇺🇸 Fun fact: You can often apply for citizenship while the I-751 is still pending and before it is finally approved.
