Posting this in hopes of more sunny days ahead. A favourite moment from last week’s intimate wedding post Old City Hall- the clouds broke, CN tower stood tall and a Beck Taxi even crept into the frame, not to mention the bride and groom looking so elegant. Very Toronto, and I love that 💜 🎞️

Sometimes I look at photos a million times that I think I’ve shared them on here but turns out… I hadn’t. Lorena and Rene reached out to me when I was having technical difficulties with my website and waited a month (can you believe they waited?!) until I finally saw their inquiry. I am so glad that they waited, and that I saw the request come through :) This wedding was the perfect mix of FUN and sweet moments. You know when the couple starts the day off with Cut Water you’re in for a great day. We wandered the residential parts of Chinatown, dipped into Sonic Boom for some cute pics of this “newly released” couple and spent the rest of the afternoon into the evening celebrating at Hotel Ocho. Wish we could do it all over again!

The joy in photographing this wedding was to capture all the little moments. Their daughter twirling around them during the ceremony, the visceral love felt in the room, chasing the couple down after their ceremony to snap a quick photo of the exhale/joy post ceremony. These two wanted a documentation of their party, we didn’t do any major posing and this is my favourite way to photograph 💜 🎞️

I joked around with a friend this year about how I wanted to market myself as strictly a photographer for city weddings, preferably at amazing restaurants. I’m a city girl through and through, and draw inspiration from my surroundings. Without advertising (or pigeonholing) myself this way, I feel lucky that this niche has come naturally, with like minded folks seeking me out. Kate and Andy spent the early days of their relationship on long walks through The Annex (a neighbourhood close to my heart, and upbringing)- they even had their first kiss right across from Lee’s Palace 💜 They got married at the Annex Hotel’s and it was perfect. We spent time tracing their footsteps from the walks they took when their relationship was budding and photographed all throughout the alleys, and along Bloor. The vibes provided were perfect…. and from now on I only want cacio e pepe arancini at every wedding ;)
