Hey followers and fans

I'm taking part in the Digital MainStreet initiative that's building a Shopify store for my business and work is well underway with the agency. It's very exciting to be active again!

I have my pride and joy, a Nikon D800 full frame DSLR and a new vision for my brand: Florian Art and Decor. You'll find limited edition prints, open edition prints AND starting soon, home decor products, textiles and wall coverings.

OK maybe I got your attention, maybe not.

As some of you know, I've been working away birthing a book. That rather put my art on the back burner.

But so did having my camera stolen...

Over the past few years, in an effort to keep my home, I've naively invited various roommates to share with me. It has mainly been a disaster, and part of the disaster was the THEFT of my camera.

That act was so senseless and so devastating that it was like a gut punch from which I thought I might not recover. Not having that DSLR in my hands has made me like someone who's lost their closest companion. I've been in mourning, in other words.,

But I'm now in a position to purchase the camera I"ve been pining for. And I'm reviving my website. So I hope you'll "like" this page to stay in touch and be notified when Florian is walking around again, finding beauty in the strangest places.

Dear friends and fans: I have made the decision to close down the Florian PhotoArt Page for the time being.

Much of my energy has been going into my satirical and personal blog and its related book, which you can learn more about on my other Page, A Slow, Painful Death Would Be Too Good For You - and other observations.

I appreciated your support, and I'm not disappearing for good. I'm exploring other directions for my art, but I find it's not ideal to "hunt three hares" as the saying goes.

I'll be back sometime, in another one of my protean guises!

My message this holiday season is "peace on earth". As we visit with loved ones, let's remember those less fortunate than ourselves, those who have suffered loss from war, famine and persecution; those who are struggling, who are lonely, who are hungry.

Let's each of us vow to do our small part to make this world a better place—a place of justice, dignity and compassion where we stand as equals with our sisters and brothers, our fellow passengers on this ship of fools.

"Festival/Estival (Michael's Garden, Summer)", 2017. Archival print on Epson Ultra Premium Matte, 16"x16". (Commissioned piece, not for sale).

This was a commissioned piece. The brief was to show the colorful flowers exclusively, with no "greenery", to capture the essence of my friend's garden in full bloom.

Kind of like making preserves.

For a change of pace, I created it "tondo" style (in the round), which itself makes me think of the sun.
