Last Friday we spent the day filming four survivors sharing their journeys of recovery and resilience.
We were at the Garry Hurvitz Brain Sciences Centre at Health Sciences Centre in Toronto for an upcoming project with Toronto Stroke Network.
One family member also joined to speak about what it’s like to support a loved one through that process. Their stories were powerful reminders that life after stroke can still hold hope, progress, and possibility.
These videos will be featured on the Toronto Stroke Network website to help others better understand recovery and see that they are not alone.
A big thank you to Donna Cheung, Foujan Saberi, Tina Sahota and Anna McClellan from Sunnybrook who helped make the day possible and brought together such inspiring participants.
The photos here are stills from the interviews and a few behind-the-scenes moments from the shoot. Looking forward to sharing the finished videos soon.

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of catching up with my friend .devore.photography while he was in . We braved one of those hot, smoky days, shared some cookies at , and even tried to grab chocolate at (closed that day, sadly!).

Doug and I first met over 12 years ago, and it’s amazing to keep such a nice friendship. He’s a creative force, an Apple talent, a fellow GH5s enthusiast, and one of the most upbeat and generous people I know. Always a joy to reconnect.
