What to wear for your couple/engagement session?
⠀
These are some tips for choosing your perfect outfits for a session!
⠀
1️⃣ Stick to neutral colours. I always recommend avoiding big logos or super bright colours. Wearing neutrals will help keep the focus on you and you feelings.
⠀
2️⃣ Dress comfortably. Wear something that represents your personality, especially if you’re not used to doing photoshoots. And make sure that your clothes (especially shoes), are physically comfortable.

3️⃣ Match your location. Wear colours that compliment the colours of the location. You can always reach out to me for suggestions. For example, if the shoot is in the fall, wear colours that would represent fall. If the shoot is by the water, wear something casual and flawless. And so on.

4️⃣ Bring extra clothes. Sometimes I recommend adding up layers, in most cases they look amazing on photos. For example, if you’re wearing a dress, bring a flawless cardigan or a shirt! And if you’re feeling like wearing two outfits, that’s totally ok!

5️⃣ Don’t wear matching outfits, unless this was the goal for the shoot and they actually mean something to you. Fortunately, the trend for old-fashioned white matching t-shirts with jeans is gone. Your outfits should compliment each other, but not match.
⠀
Be yourself! If you don’t like wearing dresses or suits, you don’t have to wear them for a session. You are less likely to feel uncomfortable during a shoot if you’re wearing the right clothes 😊

5 things you must do before your wedding!

There will most likely be Part 2,3 and as many more as I need to fit it all together 😂 Being prepared is always a key to success!
⠀
⚡️ Food and wine tasting. This is a must for me. Imagine sitting at your dinner table and realizing that the food is not that good. And this is your special day, so everything must be perfect. And a lot of the catering companies offer complimentary tastings anyway, just ask them!
⠀
⚡️ Makeup and hair trial. If you’re using a makeup and hair artist that you worked with before, then you probably don’t need it. But if it’s someone who hasn’t even seen your face and hair, the final look can be a surprise on your wedding day, and you probably don’t want that. So I usually recommend doing makeup and hair trials.
⠀
⚡️Get into your wedding dress a week before the date. This is probably the biggest nightmare of a bride. Not fitting into the dress on the day of. But in most cases, I saw the opposite ➡️ brides losing a lot of weight because of stress. Make sure to try your dress on before the wedding and fix it if you need.

⚡️ Site visit with a florist or wedding planner. If I was a bride, I would be very picky on where everything goes😂 So a meeting like this would be very important for me, to make sure my vendors are on the same page one more time.
⠀
⚡️ Ask your guests to confirm that they are coming. It’s very easy when you have a wedding website or sending online invitations (I highly recommend doing both). Especially these days, when we have so many last minute changes. It’s important to be prepared.

Top 5 ideas for your engagement session in June✨

1️⃣ Beach session. It’s always the number one for me, especially with morning and sunset lighting! There are a lot of wonderful locations near Toronto for a perfect beach session!
⠀
2️⃣ Local wineries. Rolling vineyard fields will be a perfect backdrop for your e-session. There are incredibly beautiful wineries in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Time to go there before it’s crowded by tourists!
⠀
3️⃣ Local fields and farms with horses/alpacas/goats/etc. Those locations are always fun to visit. There are farms that allow taking their animals for short walks and taking pictures with them.
⠀
4️⃣ Nighttime picnic with a bonfire. This could be 2 in 1: an engagement session and a date for the two of you. Summer nights are starting to be nice and warm, so it’s perfect for playing around and getting some creative shots!
⠀
5️⃣ Showcase an activity that you love doing together! It could be renting bikes together, eating ice cream, walking your dog, playing basketball and literally anything you’re into!

Remember that we are back to warm summer nights and the best time to shoot is after 5 pm or early in the morning. So you can consider booking your shoot on a weekday✨

The photos are amazing, but please don’t post them anywhere!

A phrase like this would make me really upset at the beginning of my photography career. I was working very hard on building my portfolio and client base. And I simply would not even understand any reasons behind this request. Every shoot was a possibility to push myself out there and show the world what my work looks like.
⠀
Right now it’s different. Some clients ask to keep the photos discrete, and I completely understand. Especially something like a newborn or a bo***ir session. As long as we discuss these things in advance. And if it’s a wedding, it needs to be a part of the wedding contract.
⠀
But does it still upset me when I’m told I can’t share anything from a shoot? A little :) But it’s totally my choice to approve a request like this. This winter I caught myself being a little upset about an intimate wedding that I couldn’t share with you guys. It was gorgeous! But you wouldn’t believe me haha!
