It was an honour to be the second shooter for this awesome, fun newlywed team. Always such a pleasure to be able to work under the BPOL (Brilliant Photographer of Life,) Erin Courville. I love being the second shooter at weddings, because it lets me rove around and capture the goofy, magic little unposed moments that make weddings so great.

An amazing night at the venerable Cameron House, full of glowing moments, with my ol' pal and talented singer/songwriter extraordinaire, Grady Kelneck. Thursday May 29th, 2014. Check out Grady's site at: http://www.gradykelneck.com/

Made up of the super talented duo of Cindy Doire and Andrea Ramolo, 'Scarlet Jane' are wildly passionate about music. Their songs are beautiful, and their harmonies are otherworldly. They played a house concert at our cabin studio last week. It was a pretty magical night. Here's some photos to prove it. :)

NATURE, 52 PicUp, Week 10
I can't believe it's been 10 weeks already!
This weeks theme was sent in by the talented Mike Colwell, of Deeply Rooted Designs. The stars of this show are my nephew's supremely photogenic cat Henry, our pup Dublin, and my wifey, Amy J.

This weeks photos were taken at one of my favourite Uxbridge landmarks. I love how the lines and grain play in this structure.
Thanks for taking a look.

I've kept a very detailed journal since I was 15. To capture this week's theme of Secrets, (sent in by Leigh Costello) I decided to dig up my boxes (plural) of old diaries, and photograph all the embarrassing teenage thoughts, revealing love letters from high school flames, university attempts at knowing myself, song sketches, long-forgotten doodles and other goofy ephemera captured in those glorious lined Hilroy pages.

There is also a collage of entries from the 3 days surrounding the worst day of my life.

I love keeping a journal, because when I look back and read how adamant I was about something, how absolutely sure I was of certain things back then (which I now know to be untrue and often silly,) it helps me not take myself too seriously these days.

Some of the things I uncovered in these notebooks I will keep secret. Some are on full display, for all your voyeuristic pleasure...

Special thanks to the amazing Amy Jefferies for sending in this week's theme! Music and 'Purpose' are synonymous in my world. I had an amazing time at the Uxbridge Scholarship Music Trust Concert. Here are my photos of the event. Special thanks to all the performers, who have cleary found their purpose.

This week's theme of 'Awesome' was sent in by Doug Williamson, the awesome dad of my awesome 52 PicUp compadre, Erin Courville. To me, there is no place that inspires 'Awe' more than the woods. I've always been fascinated by the textures of tree bark. As a kid, I would stare, entranced, at the birch bark on the tree in our yard. And I love the woods. The peacefulness, quiet and stillness are, well, AWESOME.

This week's theme of DANGER was sent in by the excellent NYC photographer Kristiana Powell. She is a dangerously awesome human being. For my series, I decided to do some shots at the ruins of what was supposed to be the beautiful, award-winning First Leaside Building, in Uxbridge.
Instead, it remains a huge scar on the town, an unsafe eyesore, slowly rusting away. The signs shoddily attached to the fence warn not only of the physical danger lurking behind the padlocked barrier on our main street, but also of the dangers of greed, corruption and over-arching ambition.

52 PicUp theme for this week: DANGER. Sent in by the charming, talented and highly accomplished Kristiana Powell. Looking forward to seeing all of your photos, folks! Be careful, and courageous. ;)
