One thing this year has taught me, is the need to let go of control. And in learning this, I’ve started to apply it more to my photography: the need for things to be a certain way, for me to happy, will always leave me unhappy. And so my shooting style has become liberated. I have no pre-conceived ideas at my sessions; very little planning is involved. Just an open heart and mind, and my joy of being there with my clients, watching them be themselves, with no reservations. And if we're having fun, the smiles will come. It’s enough for me, and thankfully for the clients who book me, it’s enough for them. xx

I love love love Greek Orthodox weddings. And this was the third one I’d photographed in this family. After their nuptials, 20 of their nearest and dearest joined them for a traditional meal at their favourite Greek restaurant on the Danforth. Three hours was enough to capture this intimate celebration with family, and I welcome more of these shorter, midday weddings. Much love to you, Steph and Dimitri! xx

I’m not sure if the groom intended “Volare” by the Gypsy Kings to be played during his dance with his mum; but it was completely unexpected and just friggin’ awesome, and everyone in the room couldn’t get enough of the mom and son duo spinning wildly on the dance floor. It was one of the best surprises I’ve witnessed all year. Thank you so much for that memory, Diana and Justin. And much love to your spirited family and friends. xx
