There’s something about a room with one strong piece of art that gives your eyes a place to rest. No Color competing for attention, no busy pattern to decode. Just texture, thread, and the quiet mark of a hand that made something slowly and thoughtfully.

“Draw” is reclaimed cotton muslin, hand dyed and hand stitched. Up close you can see every stitch, pinch and pull. From across the room it holds the wall quietly and calmly.

Textile work does something a flat print can’t. There’s actual depth here, actual shadow and texture you want to reach out and touch. It changes with the light in the room throughout the day.

“Cinch” is part of the Held Together series, with reclaimed cotton muslin, hand dyed and pulled and stitched in place on art board.

Stark, bold and calm. The kind of piece that brings a room together.

There’s a corner in a certain kind of home where this piece would live. I imagine it on a white wall, natural light, with nothing competing for attention.

You walk past it every day and notice something different each time-the way the fabric holds tension, the places where it’s been bound and pulled and stitched back into stillness.

A place for your eyes to rest.

A moment of calm.

This piece (16x20 inches) is called “Bind”. It’s from “Held Together”. A series of 14 hand-dyed, hand-stitched pieces made from reclaimed cotton mounted on archival art board in walnut frames.

Four days. So many conversations. So much art and talent to experience.

I’m still sitting with all of it.

The connections, the moments, the energy of a room full of people who genuinely love art.

Something about being in that space, surrounded by fellow artists and strangers who became familiar faces, fills you up in a way that takes time to settle.

Thank you to everyone who came to simply look and feel. That means everything.

To the artists around me who made the whole experience richer.

And to my man who showed up and made this possible. I couldn’t have done it without you.

My mind is still spinning in the best way. 🤍
